Snapware Glass Eco Drink Bottle $7 @ Harris Scarfe

60

Seems like a good price for a brand name glass drink bottle. Best to pick up in store as shipping kills it at $10, so it would be $17 delivered, although free shipping for orders over $150 if you buy enough stuff.

Bought one of these and really happy with it, perfect for my needs and no yucky plastic or metal tastes or associated problems. Has a nice fitting neoprene sleeve, pop on/off leak proof cap and is dishwasher safe.

"Comes with either green or blue neoprene sleeve. Colour selection is not available [online]. Made from glass, more hygenic than plastic or other materials as bacteria is not absorbed."

  • I hate Harris Scarfe and their 'sales' but this seems a pretty good deal.

    • Yeah I note they don't appear on Ozbargain very often probably because everyone weary of all their 'sales'.

  • Got one for $6.95 at Pyrex DFO Brisbane

    • Pity they don't advertise price online.

  • +2

Another person duped by green washing and claims that plastic absorbs bacteria lel.

    • I care about taste and leaching more than bacteria.

  • "metal tastes"? not in quality stainless steel bottles..

this bottle would be fine sitting on your desk, but i'd be more concerned with its durability if you're out and about.

    • yeah well could be true but some definitely taste metallic, I will have to try a quality stainless one, although I'm paranoid about not being able to see what I'm drinking so clear is good for that.

yep just using it around the house I wouldn't take it to the mines

      • if i were after a glass bottle, i'd be more inclined to buy a voss bottle when they're on special

        • I guess a true ozbargainer would! But I like the grip and non-screw lid on this one.

    • the free metal bottle i got from uni, tasted terribly metal as (profanity). Also must have been somewhat porous as it grew mold over the weekend. Probably varnish coating.

this looks ok, and pointless arguing on preferences, tastes

      • sounds like you got an aluminium bottle. i've been over those for years; that coating they put grows mini civilisations on its own. a good stainless steel one like a klean kanteen is about as light as an alu bottle but doesn't grow its own crap.

        • probably, i wasn't expecting much from uni, I'll see if i can make a steam propelled boat with it :)

        • +1

@juki: i use my old ones for target practice lol

  • These bottles are awesome. I was given one and later bought 3 more on a deal at woolworths. Saying that, buy a few as because they are fine and nice to drink out of means they also break after a few drops. Thankfully the wetsuit jacket they come in makes it easy to clean up the glass :)

  • Essendon DFO has it for $6.95 as well.

  • UPDATE: Has been reduced - now $7 at Harris Scarfe.
