  • Any code for free shipping ?

    • No free shipping this time AFAIK. Delivery cost is actually quite modest.

      • But it loses the whole big saving portion when there's no free delivery. You can't order goods worth small amount anymore since it will be a bad deal. Say, $10 shipping for a $9 tshirt.

    Just as an example

I bought my everlast Tshirts for $3.50 each when they had free shipping

    • How was the quality?

      • good enough for the price but not worth $35

      • +2

Satisfactory. But i found the $1 slazenger t shirts to be of better quality

I posted Everlast deal just to show math and knowing that this brand is popular.
As a matter of fact I ordered quite a lot (not Everlast though) when they had a free delivery option. And today I checked some prices on those items I ordered then and most of them didn't change. Some did though. Some new good deals appeared. Simple math shows that if you order for 100$ it's about the same total as if it was free delivery.

  • +3

I highly doubt the Everlast shirt in the example was ever over 35 dollars on this site, the price quoted on the site would be RRP, so it is not really reduced, although the t shirts are cheap.

Also the delivery charge the last time I ordered from Sports Direct was not capped & was doubled for every $100 dollars spent ($0-$100 = $9.80, $101-$200 = $18.60 and son on). Not sure if this is still the case.

I also noticed earlier that there is a flash sale tomorrow for men's items. It might be worth holding off for then as the 10% off will still be available.

As a side note, Everlast is now stocked in K-Mart.

      • For how much?

        • I didn't look. I was just surprised at how the brand had fallen.

Big W and Target have a few of these brands now too, that used to be premium in the 90's/early 2000's.

        • +1

          @FriendlyPhillip:

Other perspective: Big W and Target have upgraded themselves in terms of brands that they sell.

        • @virhlpool:

          Fair call :)

    • I highly doubt the Everlast shirt in the example was ever over 35 dollars on this site

I honestly have no idea. Just quoting what I see on the store's page.

I got the Slazenger Wave Mens Sandals last time, they fell apart after two weeks. Terrible design, a rubberish sole with another layer glued to it in such a way that they had to fall apart.

OP are you saying you get $10 postage using the UK site? I always have to pay around $35. ( I know the au site has cheap post but doesn't have the stuff I buy)

    • They send it from UK anyway. Maybe You just selected an express delivery which is about that price. There's also a standard delivery option.

      • Na, I've been ordering from Sports Direct since before they set up the Aust site. Maybe over 10 orders now. There's only the one shipping option avail to me.

Can you test your example with an Australian address please through the UK site you have linked to?

        • I made 3 orders when they had free delivery option. And I made it through au site.
All of them were sent from UK.
Today I made another order but it's not shipped yet

        • @abm77:
Cool. The UK site is a little different there is a much bigger range than the AU site offers but the postage is much higher.
I order from both depending on which brands I am after.

Your original links were all to the UK site which has been fixed, now it is just the link against your example.

I was hoping you had a hack to get the cheap shipping through the UK site. (again same source but much bigger range)

        • @tonka: Tnx for clarification. I fixed the link in the post.
Just out of curiosity I compared T-shirts sections of UK and AU sites with price low-to-high ordering. They although look pretty close at the beginning but not identical. And what's actually funny about that AU site listed 4458 products when UK just 3713 products. So it could be that AU site has even a better selection range.
Needs a much deeper comparison to prove the point ofc, but anyway…

        • @abm77:
Could be, it's mainly particular brands that are missing that I'm aware of.
I figured it was the same old case of certain brands stopping shipment to Australia so they could charge over inflated prices through Australian Merchants. In case you are curious it was Lonsdale stuff that I was after that had the reduced range.
Next time there is free shipping, definitely go through the UK site though.

  • Almost $70 for delivery for $180 spend, NO DEAL…

    • +1

Check what site you are on, the link was to UK site but the AU site in previous comment may have cheaper post

      • +1

Was on UK site but there's nothing for me on Au site.

    • Standard delivery is cheaper. You probably have selected express delivery

Smart tip is to buy from the NZ site(can enter AU shipping address) and pay with the cheaper NZD(exact same prices as the AU site).

    • Now that's a good tip, cheers.

    • Is shipping to Australia the same price too?

    • It's a good tip for those from NZ. Or You can pay in PLN it's good prices too. However EUR is a bit better.
But ofc it's all about someone's payment options. I personally prefer EUR

      • Add the currency conversion charges that banks charge on top?

    • +1

you can just change the currency rather than the site.
from google:1AUD = 1.06NZD so not much of a saving once you factor cost of currencey exchange

    • Hardly any cheaper, mate. Much More so when you consider currency exchange charges.

      • depends how much you are spending, plenty of people spent $100+ during the free shipping deals

I am a frequent customer at sports direct and find their sale prices to be excellent.

However, I find some of the RRP prices a bit hard to believe.

Sunice Collins Jacket: RRP $940 with 90% discount $160, saving $780. Sounds Fantastic!!!

    http://au.sportsdirect.com/sunice-collins-full-zip-jacket-me…

Maybe I will buy it just to say that I have a $900+ sports jacket. Then again, maybe I won't ;-)

  • +1

Be careful of overinflated RRPs. I've seen plastic bags with less plastic than the $1 slazenger shirts.

  • +1

I've posted this before even though it may not be a concern to some. Sports Direct (and it's owners) are being investigated in the UK for many serious violations of labour laws and other dodgy practices. If you place buying from ethical companies above price you may want to do some investigation however if you don't care… carry on regardless.

    • But I care about free shipping. Sigh..

  • +1

looking at my wishlist theyve inflated the prices well beyond 10% on a lot of items….
may be no deal here at all…?

  • And be careful with shoes sizes also its UK sizes not US.

I found this out with my last order and ordered a ladies 8 and got 10.5 not knowing I was getting UK sized shoes.

Other than that the pricing is pretty good.

  • Looks like the sale has ended… damn I missed out!

    • Come on, you know you haven't missed out. ;-)

    • SD have more sales than Kathmandu. Just wait until tomorrow
