Gardening Noob - Do i have to turn soil and other questions

Hey guys,
I got a vegetable garden bed i seen on here:
https://www.masters.com.au/product/100707249/keter-easy-grow…

I have been growing for 2 months, capsicums, spinach (which finished now flowered) cauliflower, broccoli and beans.
My question is every day i water them a full water bucket of water.
Anyways my question is when i dug up the spinach to remove it the soil was quite hard to dig out, should i be turning the soil weekly, what else should i be doing?
And should i be watering more than once a day (6l)

ALL plants, especially vegetables, need LIFE in the soil, BEFORE they're planted. Get Blood & Bone, & dig it in. This soil will then absorb water more efficiently, & retain it, as a loose dark rich soil. You want to encourage plant roots to delve down deep into the cooler soil, and establish a deep strong root system. The common practice of brief, daily watering, simply encourages roots to stay close to the surface, & during periods of drought, these shallow-rooted plants (which you have been babying) will be the first to die off.

Watering your garden successfully is both an art and a science.
Water when the soil is dry (not just daily), water infrequently but water deeply when you do. The top of the soil should dry between waterings, but below the surface the soil should be a darker color, indicating some moisture. Use a garden trowel to dig down a bit into the soil to check the moisture. Plants that are mulched will obviously retain water longer.
Moral of the story- Don't water plants, water the soil, when the soil needs it, and only as much as the soil needs.
    Congratulations on your gardening!

  • Thanks, the soil on top was a bit tough, i used blood and bone originally.
The soil underneath is thicker and darker.
Do i have to use a trowel and mix up the soil every now and again?
    around the plants?

  • Dig the soil, & mix in soil improvers before planting.
Do not dig around plants, as you may accidentally cut/ disturb the roots.
What type if soil did you use? It should not be tough. Just get a bag of potting mix from Masters.

  • i have already planted them, i used a soil and mix.
So what happens if i have to transplant a plant.
    The cauliflowers are too bunched.

  • Thinning out seedlings needs to be done very carefully. Here's how-
