I had a call from friends yesterday who are arriving for one night from interstate that are trying to organize a surprise dinner for other friends, as a get together while they are here.
So I'm meant to find some reason to get the friends that live here to go out for dinner tomorrow night without telling them the real reason (friends from interstate will be waiting to meet them there)
I know that after Christmas/New Year these people will not be keen to go out again so soon and the only thing I can come up with - which is believable from me is that I have this amazing deal/voucher/special which is about to expire at xxx restaurant so please come out with me and use it.
There is nothing suitable for a reasonable price (none of us will want to spend too much) on Groupon etc, and I can see one deal on Shop-a-Dockets, but not really keen on that one.
It has to be walking distance in the CBD, not too expensive and there has to be a reason for going - ie a special deal.
Has anyone seen any walk-in deals, or any other coupons they can think of I could check?

Generally speaking, Groupon etc are a sign of a business suffering, so it might not be quite the best place to go.
My advice, Entertainment Book, look for a place in there that's 25% off so it covers the whole table + drinks.
If you don't have the book, ask around and see if someone is willing to give you that voucher, or just buy it, for $50 you could definitely get more than that out of it :)
