Not a deal, Bing Lee sells these for $64 https://www.binglee.com.au/belkin-f7c027au-wemo-switch and there are others at low prices on ebay.

I don't know, I think this one is slightly different as it has "insight" features. Since I purchased this deal and own one of these https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/61980 the insight feature isn't worth much for me, but it might be a good deal for others.

Bing Lee Selling the old model , this one is a new model , please check mate !

    • These are completely different devices with different objectives. While I feel the simple switch will disappear from the Belkin line, others don't agree.

Both can be used as internet controlled switches, but the Insight switch model also provide detailed power consumption data. Given the minimal price difference I would recommend the Insight model as you may find this useful for monitoring power consumption alone of a device. The power consumption meters on the market in this price range don't provide anything like the detail this Insight switch can.

Looking for the light switch, for the wall mounted room light switch, any one seen a good deal.??

    • Oh dear, they were going very cheap at DSE three weeks ago.

      • I picked up the light bulb starter kits for $55 during a sale and stacked mates rates before Xmas.
The light switch was always around the high 60`s-70+
How much did you see it for?

  • The new insight version of these are great. They show you energy use of an appliance over time which can be very useful. I have one on my hot water system and use it to keep the hot water system on only during off peak electricity times. The monitoring allows me to work out when the best time to switch it on so it is at peak heat just before the "off peak" period runs out.

    • You have a hot water system that has a normal 10 Amp power plug?

That is a rare animal indeed.

    • A lot of brands like Kelvinator, Rheem, Zip, use 15-20A electricity, but Dux Proflo, Rinnai Flowmaster, and Stiebel Eltron are amongst a few that use standard 10A GPOs.

  • I have the older one and it's the biggest piece of shit. Software updates that make you constantly have to reprogram your phone to it which works sometimes. Should've just bought a $10 digital timer.

    • Look I agree the Belkin WeMo Switch has had many problems with firmware and software. Much of which I hope is better on this newer device, but even for the original WeMo it has become more reliable recently.

However, the WeMo series is still the best supported devices (in Australia) by external software and services (IFTTT etc) including an open source port which means you can have a local control server and fully integrate into a home automation system if you want.

    • I've also had the old model for 6 months (and wemo light bulbs), haven't had any problems.

It was a bit tricky to connect initially as the last setup step never let me know if the setup connection was successful, but after closing the app and restarting, the devices are there and fully functional.

Cheaper at bunnings as you can get them to price beat

  • Insight sold out.

I have older model & some bulbs. Teething problems, but no longer with the new firmwares.

  • Good find Sika, got a few of these and a few of the old ones. New model still blocks a 2 gang wall plate but they were all used at Christmas to turn the lights on and off.
