Hi

We previously listed a similar product that was advertising subsidized, after listening to your feedback we are launching this cap offer which is NOT advertising subsidized.

All the rates are on the page. There is a flat once-off $20 charge to cover postage & SIM cost.
If there are questions please ask away and we will try to respond to your query here as fast as possible.

To purchase the non-advertising subsidized version, simply choose "No advertising" on the product variation.

  • Can I port a number to either this plan or the other?

    • Yes

  • What happens when all the minutes for a month are used up? Can one buy another lot for $10?

    • Hi - its like a regular cap plan, once you use up the credit you just pay the standard call rates.

  • Why are your listings so confusing. Is it $12.99 or $10?

    • also the page you linked to still says "All our plans are partially advertising subsidized". If you can't get your T&C right how can we trust signing up with you?

      • Hello want to sign me and my brother up for this please explain this part:

10.All our plans are partially advertising subsidized

How long does it take to port my number from Optus Prepaid?

      • +1

        Hi Lenneth

        The non-advertising version is $12.99.

The Ts & Cs have a statement declaring how much it costs to opt out of advertising. As a promotional offer to folks that sign up before expiry, the cost to Opt out of advertising is $2.99

To port from Optus prepaid could take up to 24 hours.

        • How long is this promotion on for need to show my brother when he gets home.

    • +1

I just have a try and I think it's like this:
      - $10 if you choose to receive advertisement
      - $12.99 if you choose not to.

        Hi

        Spot on.

  • I`m guessing this company uses the optus network. Is it avalible in all areas optus is. Dose your company support optus 900mhz 3g?
    Dose credit roll over?
Is this a normal price/plan price? Could you just keep buying the $10 credits/recharge and just adding that amount to your accont balance?
    cheers

    • Hi

Yes we use the Optus network. Yes basically its Optus coverage. Yes both bands of Optus 3G (900/2100)

No. Credit does not roll over.
No. Its essentially a BYO offer. Think $29 Cap but without the phone. So basically in a month you get the cap credit listed above.

  • Good rate consider you get 20 mins free call to optus mobile at night time from 8-12. When I was a student, I used the free optus time a lot. Plus data included and cancel any time is good. :D. Optus network is not bad.

  • +1

How bout having a plan with more cap. Eg. 22.95 for 300 dollars worth of calls.

  • +1

    ^ Agreed with madster09

If only it was the $20 cap + 2.99 for advertising exclusion i would port over, the data inclusion is nice =)

Can you check your usage online like tpg i wonder…

    • Good idea, will pass it on to the product team to see if we can develop it.

      tks for the suggestion.

edit Not sure what the Online portal for TPG is like but yes you can check usage online

  • Hi, can i port my number from vodafone prepaid or it just for optus prepaid?
is this support for motorola v8, i think this pohone didnt support 3g network?

    Thanks

    • Hi

If your phone is unlocked or Optus it will work.
We use 2.5G & 3G. If your phone is 2G it will just use the 2G network.

Should add, we port from any carrier.
To give you a rough idea of porting times.
Non Optus ports - happen within 4 hours
Optus ports (including Optus resellers)- take around 24 hours

      tks

Is it just me or this a little too cheap? I'd like to sign up but I'm a bit wary that they'll go under within a few months.

  • Is the 44c excess data rate included in the $120 cap?

    • Hi

No. You get 200mb of data in addition to the $120 of calls & text. When you go over the 200mb you are charged at 44c/mb, and this charge is not included in the $120.

  • With your $5 cap, how do you check your account usage? Is there a number to dial & is this free? Also, confirming that there is no fee what so ever to pay if one decides to cancel?

  • With the $5 plan is there advertising? If so, what does it involve? Do they send your messages everyday or call you?

    • Hi

You check your usage online. It runs around 24-48 hours behind. And it is free to check your usage.
There is no fee to cancel your plan.

Yes the $5 is advertising subsidized, and heavily so at the moment we do not have a standard price for opting out of advertising on the $5 plan, but we are working on it.

The advertising is SMS & MMS only, and you are never called.

      • Does the advertising always originate from the one number?

  • No bad plans…they are better than TPG with the included data usage.

Q: Does the plans include international sms / calls?

    • Hi

Yes the plan includes international SMS but does not included international calls.

      tks

      • Thx, should add that to your website page on:

Your included Call & Text value can be used on:
        * Standard voice calls within Australia (local, national, GSM mobiles)
        * Standard national SMS & MMS
        * National video calls
        * Voicemail
        * National diversions

        and add * International SMS

        • Hi

Agree with you. We're updating the page.

          tks

          • @liveconnected: thanks for updating the webpage.. but what about INTERNATIONAL MMS?

            • @CVonC: Hi

              International MMS is not included.

              tks

      • thats good enough for me.

  • +1

    Credit card surchages
•Visa or Mastercard - 1.6% of the transaction amount
•American Express - 3.5% of the transaction amount

Do you accept direct debit or bpay to a bank account?

    • I'd like to know as well

      • Hi

We don't accept Bank direct debit at this stage and credit card direct debit is the only solution.
We are working on a bank direct debit solution but don't have an ETA.

        tks

  • How this compared to the TPG Mobile 49 Cap Saver, which I can get for $14.99. The TPG cap comes with more credit, but no free data included, this liveconnected comes with 200MB included data. I am thinking to transfer from the 3 $29 cap, any suggestions?

    • +1

Depends on what you want really - data inclusion? no adds? add-subsidised? more included calls?

Data inclusion notwithstanding, the TPG plans appear to be better value if you just use your mobile for calls and texts.

You pay $14.99 because you are a TPG DSL customer or are still on their old plan pricing. The 49 Saver Cap is $19.99/month.

Even consider the TPG Pay As You Go Plans for dirt cheap calls, and if you're a current TPG DSL cutomer you get 150MB data included.

      • Thanks. I have not noticed the TPG Pay As You Go Plans for DSL customer, will have a look.

  • +2

wow good to see competition on prepaid mobile. smspup mobile also has slightly different plan. pay $10 and get $130 amount with select International call. NO data though.

    http://www.smspupmobile.com.au/

There is a spreadsheet to compare all available prepaid plans.

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AkTXsjWOGc6odDk2UHFF…

  • The $5/month plan is crazy cheap!

  • will sign up for one of these on wednesday, have 14.99 tpg mobile also, but this is a great deal.

  • Since there's no contract, how do we know that you won't change any of the plan conditions/ deals (i.e free time) once you have a whole bunch of new customers?

  • Pretty good! However, would only swap over from TPG if the 20 dollar plan they offered allowed you to opt out of advertising!

    • The data alone was enough to get me to change from TPG :D

  • If you go for advertised subsidy, how often will you get an SMS eg. 3 times a day? If it is like 3 SMS a week then I can leave with it but being sent SMS several times a day just isn't worth it for me as it can be a waste of time to hear an SMS then you think it is very important and you have to drop off anything you are doing just to read it.

    • +1

      From the advertising FAQ:

"How many ads will I receive in a day
Between 2 to 6 SMS ads per day"

      http://www.liveconnected.com.au/advertising-faqs/

    • +2

My wife signed up to the $5 deal and so far has only received minimal amounts of advertising. Somedays, there's no ads at all!

Of course, this might change if/when they get more advertisers, but so far, very manageable.

      • what are the senders like? Always from same number or not?

  • Be aware the first month is billed Pro Rata!

Billing period is on the 28th of each month.

    • please elaborate

      • +2

        Okay

        What this means is this:

Lets say you sign up on the 13th of the month. Since the billing period is on the 28th, there is 15 days left till the first month restarts. This means you have to only pay half the monthly cost (in this case, 6.50), however you only get HALF the credit allowance (60 $/100 Meg in this case).

I was unaware of this, used the full 300 $ in my cap (im on appoloo 20 plan) however we have worked out an agreement.

I think this is important to know, as there is no mention on there website about this, except a little clause in the terms and conditions mentioning the first month is billed pro rata.

This is very important for the first month only.

ANOTHER important thing peope should note is the credit useage meter is terrible. It includes data (thou your not billed) to the total cost. So you have to do maths to see how much credit you have used.

ANOTHER problem is the fact that the credit useage on the moniter thingy doesnt include GST. So you might think you only used 300$, but in reality thats 330 INC gst.

This is important, and its not mentioned at all on there website. Only through emails / Experience. BEWARE PEOPLE/

Other than that, I am happy with my phoen :D

        • [Rep] liveconnected 18 hours 48 min ago ¶

          Hi

No. You get 200mb of data in addition to the $120 of calls & text. When you go over the 200mb you are charged at 44c/mb, and this charge is not included in the $120.

hang on.. the rep says excess data is not included in the cap but you say it does?

          • @CVonC: Hi

The 200MB of Data is NOT included in the $120 calls & text, it is in addition to it.

Unfortunately the online portal displays the raw feed we get from Optus. So during the month the portal displays the data as sitting in the cap, however when your statement is produced during the billing cycle the data is treated separate to the cap.

            tks

  • Do you offer internet tether in the cap like voda?

    • Hi

      We do.
However saying that iPhone may be an exception.
Some folks have been able to tether the iPhone, others haven't.

      tks

  • Very good deal. I would port over if there was an option for no ads on Apollo 20.

  • $5 plan looks pretty good. Is it possible to get that without the advertising? How much more would you pay without advertisments?

  • how much are the cap $10 and $5 after 9th March ?

  • seemed great plans, 5, 10 and 20. i don't mind receiving SMS or MMS atm, but could i opt out of ads later? if i found it annoying? thanks.

    • Hi

Yes you can opt out later.

The Apollo 10 is the only one we have a fixed price for opting out of ads for - its $2.99

As we get more data on the Apollo 5 & 20 we'll be able to put a fixed price for opting out of ads for these as well. Suspect it will be around the same price.

      Hope this helps.

      tks

  • do you offer blackberry support/

    • Hi

      Not at the moment.
Once we release the blackberry packs we will be. Don't have an ETA on the blackberry packs yet.

  • It is stated in Order Process that a driver ID is required. What if I do not have a driver ID?

    • Hi

We need a drivers ID or a passport number.
If you've got a passport, in the checkout form where it says any additional comments, please enter in your previous residential address.

And where you are asked for a drivers ID enter in your passport number.

      tks

  • Why does the offer expire March 9th? I would sign up but not until I have used all my credit on my current Prepaid.

    • Hi

      Its a promotional offer.
Basically rather than put marketing dollars in press, for this weekend we're running it on OzBargains to see the uptake.

      So far, very very impressive.

      • Thanks for the quick reply. Feedback - Looks like a good product and I will consider reviewing where you are at later in the month when I am likely to have used my current prepaid.

  • Can I ask if the advertising is delivered all from the same phone number (ie - your company?) or multiple sources (ie- lots of different advertisers directly contacting customers).

    Cheers

    • Hi

The ads are from a couple of numbers that WE own. Advertisers will never contact you directly. We do NOT give out your details.

      tks

      • I like the pricing innovation in these low-end plans. Good luck with them.

However, how will the pricing model be viable against invisible client-side ad-blocking measures?

What I read into this question - differently to your legitimate privacy concerns - was thoughts of the Adv Call Manager software on a Nokia E71 through which your sms-sending numbers can be programmed into a black-list such that the sms tone will be muted - but only for messages from those number the customer chooses to black-list. Your answer appears to present that as a viable option! I wouldn't like to see the innovation in your pricing model readily undermined.

  • I just signed up, will post any problems

  • Hi Liveconnected,

Any chance we'll see the $10/$12.99 cap extended for a few months? I don't get off contract for another 10 wks but would love to sign up when I'm finished.

    Cheers!

    • Hi

Unfortunately we can't give details of forward product roadmap.

      tks

      • Thanks for the quick reply.

Further to this, would I be able to port a number after say, 10 weeks? Could I sign up with LiveConnected now, then port my old number over after my contract is done with current provider? If so, I'll put my application in now.

        Cheers

  • how do you port your old number over? do i order then set it up when the sim arrives?
    cheers

    • Hi

We look after porting for you.
Once you've bought your service, you'll be walked through the configuration of your service, which includes porting your existing number across.

      tks

  • Does this allow me to use the call credits on premium numbers and texts?

    • Hi

No. Premium calls and SMS are excluded.

      tks

  • To Liveconnected,

Can you tell me when this company was established and how many users are using your service? I just wanted to be sure that the company will not just close down if you don't get revenues from sponsors.

thanks for all the quick replies, it is one aspect that shows that the company respond quickly.

    thanks.

    • Hi,

      Established October 09.

Cannot tell you the number of customers. That is confidential.

If you want to find out more about us, turn on Sky News Business at 9:15am tomorrow morning.

      Thanks

  • VERY VERY nice deal! Suits very well to my gf's use. I am signing one up for my gf now! Thanks and keep up the good work/price!!

  • Anybody know if these guys offer international roaming ?

    • Hi

Yes we provide international roaming, please bear in mind our rates are tied to Optus.
So to be honest, if you are a frequent user of international roaming, we would not recommend this product. Just like the Optus products, its good for occasional use.

      Also a tip:
When roaming internationally, make sure you ask your carrier to switch off Voicemail and any other diversions you may have in place.

      Hope this helps

      tks

  • does the account start as soon as you activate the sim or when you sign up ?

    • Hi

      When the SIM is activated.
We activate within 24 hours of delivery.

      tks

  • Hello, i am very interested in the plan and i just have a few questions, once your $120 credit is used up and also your free minutes does it start to use real money?? or is it like prepaid when you use up the value u can no longer make calls,

if its not like the prepaid option, would it be possible to set up something so it doesn't allow you to make calls when your value is used

    Cheers

    • Hi

This is essentially a postpaid plan, its a SIM only cap.

No we don't set up a feature like what you have requested.

      tks

      • Ok, also how accurate is your service that checks your remaining credit, free minutes and data allowance, i know voda has a 12-24hour delay

        • Hi

Are you asking how up to date is the online usage portal?
If so, it is 24-48 hours delay.

          tks

          • @liveconnected: ahh yes, i think so,

EG is have $120 credit, and i make a call which costs $5, that would take 24-48 hours to register hence in the meantime if i call up to check my balance it would still say $120

            Cheers

  • Will i have any downtime i.e. no sim card to use while im being ported over? How long would it take to send the sim card. Seems like a great deal.

    • Hi

      Porting is seamless.
Once your existing SIM stops working, your Live Connected SIM will start working.

It does take us about 15-30 mins to configure and check all your services. So for this period not all your services may be working, for e.g. data, international calling.

      hope this answers your questions.

      tks

  • what does Advertising subsidized mean?

I am interested in the $5 cap with $100 included calls.
Will minimum bill be $5 a month if I make calls well within my caps.
    or will the bill be $5 + $3 = $8 a month minimum?

  • Looks like a good deal.. one question before i sign up, with the 1000mins Free Time, If i hang up within 20 mins and call again, would It still be included as free?

  • Oh well looks like a good deal and offer so I signed up after 10 years on Optus Prepaid lol :D

  • Just a quick question,

I really like this deal and just wanted to know if these services are counted as Optus services. What I mean is, I currently am with Optus prepaid and I get free calls to other Optus numbers. I was thinking of signing up my parents to the $10 deal (from Optus Prepaid) but just wanted to know if calls to these services are counted as "Optus to Optus" and hence qualify for the free calls. I am assuming that they can call me for free after 8PM as is advertised on the website even though I am an Optus Prepaid customer.

    Thanks,

    • Good question for me to know also since my whole family use optus :)
