My window is behind me so I get glare on my pc monitor and I was wondering if monitor hoods help at all if the window is behind me?

What about anti-glare flims? do they help?
Not in my experience. Again, they're better where the light isn't square on. You effectively need to overpower (make the screen brighter) to counteract the sun. That's not going to happen.
buy curtains. Or if you're at work, ask marketing to leave one of their freestanding signs there
Not if it's behind you. The monitor hood is more from the top or sides. If you can't rearrange the room, your only real option is a curtain or blind on the window to knock it out.
