How to Find - How Long a Property Has Been on The Market?

Hi All,

How to Find - How Long a Property Has Been on The Market ?

When I was searching properties(to buy) are in the Realesate/Domain and later I found in websites says NEW. Might be removed and re-added the post.
When reading the RPData reports it says the “start date” when a specific property in the market. However it’s difficult to get RPData report for every property.

Is there any way I can find the start date? I feel it would be advantage when we are bargaining with the agent.

Thanks

  • Can you search for the property address in Google, and then view the cached version, if there is one?

  • +4

Go to www.onthehouse.com.au and search your property. It will tell you the full history of when it was put in the market and how many times the property has been sold and for how much. Very helpful website. I used it when i had to buy my house last year.

    • ^^ THIS, However I've found on the house to be a bit rubbish sometimes..

      • What was your bad experience? Would you like to share the issue?

        • Sure, Looked up a house I had known to be on the market before with various agents in my area, Had driven by and seen it myself, on the house said it hadn't been on other then with the current agent, though I knew it had and a quick google search confirmed this by bringing up the old listings.

Only happen twice thus far but when I use it i double check google and others, though it could also be cause of my area, the agents etc and not onthehouse's fault.

  • Here is a good website that tells you the listing date of a house, and also the price range of houses without a listed price http://gethousedate.com.au/
Only works for current listings for sale or rent online
