JB Hi-Fi currently has a buy one get one free promotion on their Dr Who DVD and Boxsets.

This stacks with the 20% off, which finishes this Sunday (10/01/16). Unconfirmed, but this may also be used in conjunction with the $20 off $100 vouchers, if you have one.

The best value seems to be the Boxsets starting at $12.78, which give you 2 DVD series in them, netting you another 2 DVDs for free: Works out to be around $3.20 per series.

The store I visited at Brighton seemed to have a lot of stock, but not all the items listen online. Some weren't even stickered so make sure if you go in-store, you ask the staff about this deal.

    well theres download costs, newsgroup or pirate site costs now, storage costs and possible pirating costs if caught so i wouldnt say pirating is totally free.
    plus that moral cost of feeling guilty for not paying the artists or the corporations.

        @Garagesale: Yeah, getting TPG unlimited broadband is out of the average Joe's budget these days, innit? I am a casual worker (well, since mid last year) and I have been on unlimited broadband for almost a decade now for $60 a month (apart from 2005-06 that BigPond ripped me off). If you can't afford that then you shouldn't be on OzB, mate cuz you failed the number 1 rule of OzB. To be a successful OzBargainer, you must have a decent broadband connection & bandwidth.

  Do people still use DVDs these days by the way? Once you go HD/Blu-Ray you never wanna set eyes on DVDs ever again.

    you cant get most of the old eps on blu ray.
    maybe they will get remastered.
    im hoping this 2-1 deal indicates blu ray box set compilations are on the way and they are clearing out old stock…

      The classic series Doctor Who DVDs are already as remastered as they're ever going to get. The only Bluray - Spearhead from Space - was possible because the story was made completely on 16mm film, and those master films survived the purges of the 1970's.

      Box set compilations/bluray sets of the classic series will never happen, because they simply don't make enough money for the BBC.
