      The Akai presents itself as a re-badged Chinese generic. I have one that looks the exact same but 42"

      Bloody good TV though! (Though I got crapped on last time for choosing a 'value' TV)

          It's a very smart TV. VERY good value and quality for the size!

          But if your talking an Android computer… get yourself a little plug-in Android box. I'd recommend the Android 4K one for $55 or so that was just recently advertised here.

          thinking of getting this as an interim replacement for my aging sony 40"..
          ( 8 yrs old still going strong! my only reason to go for this is the bigger size/cheap ),
          may be after a year or so, if the UHD tv prices stabilizes i can go for a 65" 4k tv ..

          I hate Smart TV's. I've always found their features useless. I always owned a WDTV, Chromecast and now Nvidia SHIELD TV.

          They're good if you don't own any 3rd party devices I guess. Less is more for me.

          That said, I'm not convinced about the quality of Akai.

          I wonder if it's better to just wait for an Aldi TV deal again? Perhaps comparable build quality but you do get the 60 days no questions ask return policy included. Shouldn't cost any more than this I think.

      I've been on the lookout for a cheap ps4 or decent bundle since boxing day, and this one doesn't blow me away after comparing with some past deals (unless you value the bundled items).

      429 is just for 500gb console. Which is crap considering they were 368 couple of weeks back.

          Not anytime soon. Best time was to buy them when we had the 10% off gift vouchers just before Xmas - 368-10%.

      I'd rather hunt for a nice working DC19 for $200 used but that's just me :) Great if you don't need to suck on much.
