  • So this definitely works for the buffet or just the a la carte? Seems like a great deal.

  • How do we get this? Do we have to ask for it during booking? Thx in advance.

    • so book via dimmi, when arriving let them know the booking name, and when paying they will apply 50% off the food bill

      • Oops. Sorry should have clicked on the link before I asked the question. Thanks for the deal 👍

  • Isn't it $79 on weekdays dinner? Your price is for the lunch.

O, i was looking at the interactive dining option.

Do those prices include the discount op?

    • +1

Those prices are pre-discount, so seems a good deal.

Just wanted to point out that Secure Parking Post Office Square is full of reserved parking. I couldn't find a unreserved parking the last time I was there even though I booked on secure-a-spot, which is ironic since a spot wasn't secured for me. After circling the car park for about 10 times, and noticing that most cars there do not match the number plates displayed on the wall, I took a chance and parked in someone's "reserved" spot. My car didn't get towed that time, but I didn't get to enjoy the whole time I was away from the car park, thinking that there will be a fight on my hands if my car did get towed.

There's also a Secure carpark underneath the Novotel Hotel, which is only a short walk to the Sofitel, and offers $5 evening parking.

      Additionally, there are other Secure carparks eligible for the RACQ discount (no proof of membership required);

    • yeah it's a prick of a carpark but after 7 I have never had any problems, yet

  • Outside of peak parking times you can find plenty of free parking in spring hill

Went there on this voucher. Plenty of seafood - not great quality but plenty. Despite being at the Sofitel this was otherwise a 2 star affair. More like an RSL seafood buffet. Those looking to impress a date, you have been warned.

    • Which date did you attend, and which day? What seafood was on offer?

I've been a few times and they've always had heaps of very fresh bugs, oysters and prawns, plus cooked mussels, spanner crab and snapper.

Did you go on a weekday?

I'm interested, because I've just made some bookings!

    • Seafood buffet is excellent when they do it but it costs extra iirc.

  • Just confirmed with Thyme2 for the price, $69/person (Sun - Thurs), $89/person (Fri - Sat)

    • Is that dinner price, pre-discount?

      • Yes… pre-discount

    • 98 or 89?

  • +2

Thyme is pronounced time. Wish I knew that first time I went there :(

  • $69 for two people… giggity…

    • -2

      $69 should be p/p

      • 69 for two shows on your credit card bill

      • So $276 for two people normally? They should be incredibly ashamed! That is well and truly food for the two people here for six weeks!

  • hi

What kind of drinks are included in the buffet?

    thanks

    • +1

Tea and coffee. Wine is extra.

  • alrrady booked for valentines day lunch. the lunch session on weekends is a seafood buffet with jnlimited champagne

    • will there be surcharge on valentines day?

      • n/a for dinne but was surprise its available for lunch. suits us perfectly. still seafood and cheaper than dinner and on sat n sun lunches u get the free flowing champagne!

    • How do we find out the menu for the day? Do they have different types of buffet? Seafood and normal buffet?

      • Seafood buffet is normal buffet + Moreton bay bugs and crabs haha.

  • Awesome thanks. Already have an accommodation booking here so just booked dinner.

  • Is booking not working for the 16th?

  • +2

I've been about 5-6 times. Buffet is average. At this price it's fair value I suppose.

Variety 3/5 - pretty limited for a buffet at a hotel like Sofitel
Seafood 2.5/5 - their oysters are usually tiny
Service 3.5/5 - service has been decent, haven't really had any issues

For dinner, I've always found street parking just outside the hotel.

    • Is street parking free? I've always paid for parking at the parking complex across the road.

    • agreed~ full price is not worth it, but 1/2 sounds ok~

    • Can't beat the Moreton bay bugs though

  • i agree not as good as QT hotel buffet in gold coast or sheraton marina mirage :)

    • truly cannot stand sheraton, has to be the worst hotel on the GC, but agreed the food is pretty decent.

    • +1

I've also found the Marriott Gold Coast buffet to be pretty good.

Shame there aren't really any decent hotel buffets in Brisbane!

    • QT is much much much better than thyme2
