Jestar Web Check-in Free Seat Selection No Longer Available?

Hi,

Have a flight to Tokyo and about a year ago was able to select my seat during web check-in, now wish to do this due to separate bookings on the same flight but the option is not possible and they are charging $7.50 per seat.

Did they get rid of this option?

Thanks :)

  • They haven't offered free seat selection for a long time. I'm thinking the flight was well over a year ago or you unknowingly paid for seat selection/bundle.

If you check in early put a request in with the staff at the check-in counter for your seat.

    • +1

It was Dec 2014 with no paid for seat selection or bundle. Did some digging though and found this post http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/jetstar/…

It's a shame they got rid of it as it is a good incentive to check in online and would be saving their company time. The queue for web check in was non existent and the queue for normal check in was extremely long.

If you check in early put a request in with the staff at the check-in counter for your seat.

Good idea, might try this out.

      • It seems like longer than that when I have been able to, then again I always check in late so maybe there just isn't any other seats left!

  • Jetstar changed this a while ago. We found out on our recent trip to the States that QANTAS don't do it anymore either

  • I found a bit of a work around. Start the Web check in process and when it tells you your allocated seats you can cancel and try again later to try get better seats.
