Quality of Vodafone Mobile Network

Hello Guru's,

Thinking of switching mobile service providers. Stuck between Telstra & Vodafone.

Telstra $60 Casual BYO plan seems appealing (10 GB Data & Unlimited national calls. Minimum 12 months contract)

But Vodafone $60 Month to Month Plan seems even better (7 GB data, Unlimited national calls & Unlimited International calls to country I would call regularly. No Contract)

I'm worried about quality of Vodafone network.

Looking forward to see your advice.

Thank you,
Regards.

  • Vodafone, if the network isn't good in your area, then switch to Telstra.

  • Vodafone since you live in melb. You should buy a discounted prepaid starter pack and try it out first if you're worried

  • +1

I've just gotten rid of Vodafone after going back to them hearing how much their network had improved.
Living in a large-ish city, Vodafone wasn't too much of a problem, but as soon as I went anywhere outside of one of these metro areas, I was unable to use data and even voice to a satisfactory level. Tried different phones, SIMs, etc.
I'm with Telstra now and am so far satisfied with coverage. I won't be going back to Vodafone.

  • http://www.telechoice.com.au/8gb-for-just-38 Much better deal on Telstra through Telechoice.

Only negative is no 4G. I find that the 3G is solid and has never failed on me unlike optus and vodafone.

  • Doesn't Vodafone have some sort of network guarantee? http://www.vodafone.com.au/aboutvodafone/network/network-gua…
    Try before getting trapped.

  • I am now getting voda service via TPG. Before it was optus. I do a bit of 4wdriving and voda sux in the bush . Am contemplatong leaving tpg and voda or just having two phones.

    • agree, voda is poo outside of major areas, but in major areas is excellent.
OP needs to consider how often they are going 'remote'.

  • Check which teleco has towers close to the places you frequent using www.oztowers.com. My home address unfortunately only has Telstra towers nearby so both my Vodafone and my wife's Optus signals are terrible. I'm switching to Telstra as soon as possible.

  • Thank you all for your input :) .

I decided to go with Vodafone at the moment. Guy at AllPhones checked the coverage for given address. Vodafone coverage looks good on computer. Don't know in reality though.

Will give it a go for a month & decide then.

    Regards.

  • Get the $40 BYO plan for 12 month

    10GB data

  • Vodafone is tri-band 3G for voice. They are also rolling out VoLTE, which is improving their voice coverage.
