      It actually is for g-star

        • +1

Think it's Vietnam but that's not the point. You are paying for good quality materials/workmanship/brand and cut

        • -1

          @supnigs:

You are paying for good quality materials

I looked at a couple and their not even 100% cotton…

        • +1

@jv: yeah, depends on style. That determines the fabric used. For t-shirts I prefer jersey cotton.

        • @jv:

I looked at a couple and their not even 100% cotton…

yeah but they're "100% authentic guaranteed"

        • +2

@supnigs: You got that completely and utterly wrong. All you are paying for is brand. Nothing else.

      • -5

everyone neg JV to -infinity :D :D

        lets make a record

        • nup

    • I was waiting for someone to say that! Agree it's not the cheapest for a t-shirt but if you like G-Star RAW, it's a decent price.

      • -4

Jealous people always comment on what they cannot afford

        • Stock up here before the dollar drops any further: http://usonline.apc.fr/men/petit-standard-t-shirt-cobcc-h264…

        • You don't get the Ozbargain spirit, it's not about being cheap or expensive, it's about value for money. But right, contemplate all those jealous people because you can buy while they can't afford a $30 tshirt. I hope you feel better now that you can imagine yourself being alpha in some super suited shirt on your body.

        • +1

Umm, youre still talking about cheap crap. Try hundreds of dollars, possibly even a couple grand for a t shirt. So yeah, until you pay $400 at least for a t shirt, you arent in any league whereby you can claim people are jealous of your shirts.

Thats like the bloke in his 317kw Commode, thinking the guy in his 250kw Commode must be jealous. He might be, but both should be aware neither is a Veyron, or any of at least a thousand much nicer rides.

Its kind of like suggesting youre better off because youre only up to your nose in shit, while the other bloke is up to his eyes.

        • @Spazzwan: That tee may be expensive but APC make some of the best quality jeans you will find, which are reasonably priced (around $200). You do get what you pay for.

    cheers, needed some new jeans!

personally i think G-Star as a brand is a bit of a wank, but I just can't find any other brand that makes jeans in the sort of raw/dark denim that i like and that fits me. (and i've tried…for a long time!!!)

i'd never buy them at <50% off (definitely don't think they are worth full price!), but i pick up a pair or two whenever i find ones i like at 50% off or more!

I see 2 ugly ass baggy t shirts for $35. Each.

    • +2

Agree those are ugly and look very poorly fitted.

    • Those are just 2 examples. There are plenty of other t-shirts, jeans, etc to choose from

  • Glad I got those 50 dollar boots on catchoftheday 6months ago, crazy they are 150 on sale down from 220 here

    • +5

Cross your fingers they aren't fake. Catchoftheday has a reputation for selling fakes.

Thanks for the post, the myer stores in WA put a cable through the shirts as a security measure. This however stretches the shirt when people try and look at them by moving them off the rack. I like their style and will grab a couple. With clothing it's each to their own.

  • +1

G-Star is terrible quality these days. Most of their clothes don't last a single season.

    • I have been and continue to buy G star clothing because it does last.

If you read the label and wash things according to their instructions it does last a long time.

      • +2

I wash my clothes more conservatively than the labels advise.

I wore G-Star before it was cool.the jeans used to be made in Amsterdam. I still have an original pair that is faded, but hasn't come apart at the seams.

I bought and returned 4 different pairs of jeans in recent years… All returns from the original purchase (only two of them were the same style - so you can't blame a bad batch/style). They lasted from 1 wear to a couple of months each.

I also have a pair of non denim shorts that lasted a couple of wears, but was so sick of G star that I didn't return them.

I haven't had this experience with any other company.

        Buyer beware.

Dis deel is like fully sick Habib, walla bro.

  • +2

These are good if you're a lad

  • G-STAR WELL DONE

  • +1

Crap sale, no sizes on anything that looks good

  • +2

I haven't looked at G-Star in a looong time, but they don't seem especially cheap. Even with the discount, you can pick up a pair of Naked and Famous raw denims for around that, which will wear in better. I'm guessing the shirts are also made in the same Bangladeshi factories as H&M and Zara, which sell for less than half price.

  • +1

Talk about brand loyalty. $70 for a tee? Only for chumps.

Bought a couple G-Star apparel with a gift card I got as a present, and I gotta say, there is nothing special about this brand to justify the price. I would never spend my own money on them.

I love how people jump on the bandwagon to defend spending this much on a simple tee, like it's made out of fcking methril. The tees are not even double jersey cotton, so don't try and bs about how they don't stretch. They're the same quality tees as ones you get for $10-$20 with a mark-up for brand recognition.

AND YET when I pay $5 for water in a fancy glass bottle everyone suddenly gets sand up in their vaginas and tell me 'Oh! it's only water.' or 'Just drink from the tap.'

Of course $5 is too much for water after you've spent your money for a days worth of meals on a fcking tee.

The jeans are a decent price for G-Stars. Only issue is that I can't tell if they're all terrible jeans on sale or if they just have really bad models.

  • +1

Thought I would have a look….. yup… the brand is still crap
