FREE Official PDF Cards Against Humanity Aus Ed

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Hi all. Now my last CaH submission was a little controversial (Bargain? Normal price?) But IMO justified. Here is another risky post but a freebie so no harm done.

As a commenter mentioned in my recent post

  • Thanks OP. Definitely a good post :)

        You weren't wrong there…

  • Bargain? Maybe if you can print it for free. For $25 you are getting good cards and supporting the game. I'm sure if you tried to print a copy it would be quite inferior for not much cheaper.

    • Here it starts again… yes this is not a bargain per se but if you get your hands on a printer and laminator this would be a decent alternative. Not everyone can get their hands on $25-30 (which is the absolute cheapest you can get your hands on it for).

It's also worth noting that you can print it out and just use paper if you are having a party or a bucks night or something, and it doesn't matter if they end up destroyed or get beer on them as it's just a few pages of paper!

        • +1

Have you tried a deck of cards made from standard printer paper? it's useless.

        • +8

          @Expon:
Try it after 6 beers, you will find you don't care, it's still just as fun!

      • +2

There is this place called officeworks. They have printers and laminators.

    • +3

You would be amazed at how many UNI students bring their own printed set around, trying to have the highest quality set while showing off how they accomplished it without spending any of their own money.

The force is strong with the ones with light sabers and even lighter wallets.

      • +1

        That's.. so.. get a job.

    • +2

'supporting the game'. Fair enough but it's them that are offering the deal… They're obviously wanting to expand their market as people not willing to pay for it might like it, then subsequently pay for the original or expansions. Use your head.

yeah, but printing/laminating at the in-laws - is it worth the risk?

    • +4

Do it on a birthday or major celebration when you have no choice but to go there and you can kill 2 birds?

How is this a bargain? The PDF has always been free.

    • I agree, this has been the norm from the get go.

    • +8

But for a long time it was only the USA version that was downloadable.

    • -1

      Yep

  • +2

    This has always been there.

    • Not the AUS version. So many people just want to blurt before thinking or actually knowing about the topic.

  • these are not the cards you're looking for

  • +1

Printing those black cards though! Cost way more in ink

    • -3

Be creative. Use work printer, in laws printer, print via officeworks onto matt photo paper for 9c…the options to save are endless.

      • +4

Being creative ≠ making someone else pay for it.

    • I had to do something similar back in uni and ended up just getting the printshop to print the white bits on black paper. was a couple of cents extra per sheet of black paper, but turned out pretty good.

      • +1

Damn wherever I go they tell me they can't print white.

        • Then again, this was nearly 20 years ago so…?

  • what kind of paper should one use to print?

    • +1

Cardstock. A friend of mine with a printing business actually once helped me make a set. The PDF is rubbish. He actually redesigned almost the whole doc so that it included crop marks, etc. Then printed it on high gsm cardstock. Not sure if it would've worked out cheaper (for him, after labour) than buying the official set though…

If the PDF version was free at the time of your last post you should have made mention there and then it was free. I don't think it was necessary to create a new post.

    • I didn't know a free version existed.

  • It'd be so much better if instead of a PDF they'd release a text file of all the cards. Then you could just use some of those perforated name tag cards like the Avery ones, and a print wizard, to print off a rough set quickly and easily.

Probably would be a trivial exercise for somebody to type them up if they already have a set… although I think that would violate the licence conditions?

    • I think the idea behind the pdf version is to get you hooked on the game but also have you realize how crap it is using scraps of paper, leading to you (hopefully) buying the real version.

Printed this at Officeworks ages ago

    They still hate me

    • why? how much did it set you back?

      • +1

        $3

because it took the guy 2 hours to do

        • +1

did they cut them out individually as well for the $3?

        • +2

          @rhino015:

          yes

        • @MasterNoob: That explains why it took so long lol. Was it an extra charge to get them cut out? Was that on card or laminated?

        • @MasterNoob:
          dam… $3 business cards, here I come!

Watch out on Gumtree. Some crooks will probably attempt to sell a paper printed version of this.
