    Peats Ridge 24x 600mL $4.99 @ Woolies this week.

    • It's $6.25 in SA though :)

      • +1

The Big W catalogue showing frantelle at $6.70 for me in SA, so it's still a little bit more expensive than that woolies ones

      I'm pretty sure you're mistaken

      $6.25 online in SA https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/browse/confectionery-snac…

But if you take all those to the depot it's $3.65

      • -1

Not in VIC. SA always pay more due to their bottle refund scheme.

        • +1

People who live in SA get money back, so in VIC is more expensive

        • @Bearosaurus:

          After considerable effort.

    • NSW and ACT have it for $4.99

    • Damn just stocked up at Officeworks @ $7 each

    Tap water is…

Someone had to say it :)

    • Sometimes you need convenience though.

Usually I need to boil tap water and then rest it in a glass jar, before putting it into a filter jug. A process similar to this is already done with the spring water bottling process. I think they also control the lead levels/filter it out.

I have those days where I come home and there is no water left in any jugs. Those are the days I have to open a bottle.

That's how I generally use bottled water. It is also good to replace the bottles you refill every now and then to ensure it is clean. ~waits to be flamed for comments!~

Do you live in Adelaide ?

        • Sydney, but I think pretty much everyone I know personally boils their water. It is a cheap safety net.

The extra chemicals added to the water to condition it can only help so much when killing bacteria. They only test at the site and certain locations, but at your tap it might differ if you have an old house.

@ponyhearts: i have never heard of anyone i know boiling water..
do you guys drink ur toilet water ??

        • @xEnt:

If you put their toilet water in a my Franklin bottle they would gulp it down without complaint or questions.

        • @ponyhearts:

And yet you live in a city with all those fumes …

        • @ponyhearts:

I know people in WA that boil their water. It's disillusioned to get rid of some of the strong chlorine taste.

I'm glad I live within the water supply of Melbourne Water. It tastes so damn good from the Thompson.

        • @sween64: chlorine will evaporate (at least flavor wise) if you leave the water on the bench no boiling req. You just need to wait 2-3 hours

        • @Slippery Fish:

I'll let my family know. Thanks.

    • … in 3 x 3l containers (rotated) left to sit overnight with the cap sitting (not screwed down) on opening to allow chlorine to evaporate. As good as any bottled water.

  • Too hot to go out tomorrow in Sydney ;-( I guess the ozbargainers who really want it will take all of it.

      Sigh

      • You're easily pleased…

    • Why not?

    • 14 litres + 24 nice bottles

That must be why everyone throws them out at the beach….

All 1/2 price spring water from WW and Coles are tap water. They don't taste like spring water at all IMHO.

    • +4

All 1/2 price spring water from WW and Coles are tap water.

      You've got a point there…

only about 55 percent of bottled waters are actual spring water. The other 45 percent of brands is mostly treated tap water.

      http://grist.org/news/bottled-water-doesnt-actually-come-fro…

      • Some taps taste better than others though. My tap water tastes like Chlorine.

        • -1

Let it sit in an open container overnight, cap sitting on the opening - not screwed down, and there will be no trace of chlorine in the morning.

Just something you might want to consider…

I personally rate the Coles brand water taste much higher than frantelle. Coles has a nice sweet taste to it while frantelle tastes stale.

More expensive is not always better.

    • +1

maybe stale taste is real spring water, sweet taste is just filtered and modified tap? My tap water taste pretty sweet too after I run it through the filter.

or maybe sometimes it is to do with how the water bottles are stored too. We had these Coles bottles from a Shell express that taste like plastic. Suspected that they stored them out in the sun for a while before bringing it in. Talking about cancer and all the fun surrounding it.

Be quick, Uber drivers are stocking up.

  • I usually have a slab of these in the my car boot. Cover it up with some insulator or put into an Esky if you're worried about heat and BPA levels etc. Saves having to buy a water at the servo, there's always water for your passesngers etc.

  • I noticed in the same catalogue Rexona 250ml 2 for $8 - I think this is a pretty good price.
