Spend $120 on Penfolds Wines and Buy a Vintec SG30 Wine Cabinet for $150 (Inc P&P)

120

Buy 6 or more bottles of Penfolds wine (including 2 from Bins range) for $120 or more, and you can buy a Vintec SG30 30 bottle wine cabinet (See http://www.transtherm.com.au/index.php?section=products&id=6…) for $150 (inc postage). The RRP for these is $599. I checked some prices online - they seem to go for about that price, e.g. http://www.appliancesonline.com.au/30-btls-vintec-wine-stora… has them at $571 plus postage. So seems a genuine bargain.

Purchase from an independent participating liquor outlet, in one transaction, between 01/03/10 and 31/03/10:
• 6 or more bottles from the Thomas Hyland, Koonunga Hill or Penfolds Bins range
• Including a minimum of 2 bottles from the Penfolds Bins range
• Purchase must be $120 or greater.

  • If anyone is looking for an easy online qualifying purchase, one option is: http://www.jackswine.com.au/product_details_md.php?pid=1202

    • I can't see anything about jackswine being a "participating liquor outlet". Can we shop anywhere and redeem this?

      • Before it was labelled as a "Vintec qualifying pack" (and was advtertised by email as being a qualifying purchase), but I see now it says "This offer is now finished". Not sure what's going on there, maybe the just sold out, their circumstances have changed, or maybe they thought they were particiapting but weren't. Might pay to call to check if thinking of buying the penfolds from them.

From my understanding of the offer, we can't shop anywhere, but to complicate matters, they don't provide a list of participating outlets!

  • Thats a great deal, thanks for the heads up

  • Great deal!

Anyone know of any participating outlets around the gladesville area?

We just rang up BWS and they're not part of it..

It must be an independent store with the promo advertised.

    • I found that WineSociety is part of this. I picked mine up from the Ultimo store. They have the Vintec there for you to look at too.

Stores in Ultimo, Sydenham, Castlecove, Sydney CBD and Zetland

There are also 2 stores in VIC if anyone is interested

  • Big + from me. I'll be out to buy my 6 tomorrow. It seems that it is mostly small independents that are participating in the promotion. I emailed a request for a list of participating stores a few days back but have heard nothing back yet.

My local store (Mayerling Cellars, Croydon, VIC) had one of them on display and it looks like a decent piece of kit.

  • I too would like to know what the list is in Sydney (the link in the website does not work)

  • In Brisbane, The Wine Emporium is participating (at the Emporium in Fortitude Valley)

  • anyone know of independent outlets around the prahran area?

  • How much electricity do these use?
I expect over a few years it may add up to a lot more than the purchase cost.
but then cellars don't come cheap either :)

    • 1kWh/Day. Depending on your tariff, approx 15 cents per day, $15 per 100 days, around $55 per year.

Very cheap compared to buying already cellared wine on the secondary market.

Any idea where I can catch this deal in Perth?

Sounds like a good deal to me

    • …and in SA?

    • I got an email back from Penfolds about Perth locations:

The Penfolds Vintec promotion is run in approximately 1000 Independent retail outlets across Australia during March 2010. This does not include 1st Choice, Liquorland, Vintage Cellars, Dan Murphy's, BWS, Woolworths Liquor.

In your area the below outlets are participating:
Altone L/S Shop 4 / Altone Park Shopping Centre Beechboro
Cellarbrations @ Charlies 497 Walter Road East Morley

Keep up the good work guys

  • The Prince Wine Stores have this offer in Melbourne (the store in the Clarendon centre has the actual unit in store so you can see what it is like.

  • +1

FYI I used the contact form on the website yesterday to find out about local retailers & they responded this morning with some stores in my area. Use that if you're stuck. Worth mentioning is this comment from the promoters:

"The Penfolds Vintec promotion is run in approximately 1000 Independent retail outlets across Australia during March 2010. This does not include 1st Choice, Liquorland, Vintage Cellars, Dan Murphy's, BWS, Woolworths Liquor."

  • Its available at the Cellarbrations store in the Melbourne CBD.
I bought 6 bottles and I am eagerly waiting for my wine fridge!

  • • 6 or more bottles from the Thomas Hyland, Koonunga Hill or Penfolds Bins range
    • Including a minimum of 2 bottles from the Penfolds Bins range

    Any recommendation?

    • Also wondering if someone can give a great sample purchase - seems like a good deal but I'm no wine expert and only want to spend the minimum ($120)…..any suggestions???

  • Chambers Cellars in Liverpool has the deal.. not sure about other chambers cellar stores.

  • Hi all - if you need more information on the promo or participating outlets, call us at Penfolds Consumer Relations on 1300 651 650.

You do need to purchase from a participating outlet, who should be displaying promotional material and claim forms in store.
