CCTV Camera system recommendations

Hey guys,
my cousins house was broken into for the 3rd time and they're now looking at getting cctv. They want a system with preferably(dont have to be wireless) wireless cameras that are really good quality, price doesnt really matter if the systems great.
Any recommendations?
Thanks :)

I don't believe a wireless system can ever be as good as a POE system. I installed a Hikvision Dvr and cameras. Networkcameracritic.com is a good source of what good although they are a little hardcore.

    • Yeah I agree with you. How's the hikvision? Heard some good stuff about them but havnt read too much on them yet

      • Pros:
        Pretty easy to set up
        Relatively inexpensive
        Excellent day picture

        Cons:
        Software is a bit clunky
        Night picture could be better

        This is what I have:

        1x hikvision ds-2cd2432f-iw (indoor camera)
        2x hikvision ds-2cd3332-i (outdoor camera)
        HIKVISION 16ch NVR DS-7816NI-E2/8P (with 2tb hdd)

From memory the whole lot cost about $1000.

        • I set up a hikvision at my mothers and also used 2 ds-2cd3332 cameras . They have been out in full weather for about a year without a single problem . I bought them from Aliexpress . I only have an 8 port Hikvision NVR and the cost was about $1000 . I think prices have gone up since though due to the Australian dollar . You can buy dedicated surveillance hard drives ., I just used an old desktop drive I had lying around .
You supposedly need to pay a licensed cabler to run the network cable but so long as you don't run it down conduit with electrical you should be right .
Software is a bit clunky but overall it works quite well . I've set it up so my mother can view via her TV , phone or laptop . I can even take a look remotely from my phone and it's reasonably easy to set up .

I use an AVTECH system and am very happy with it. I have 12TB (12,000GB) storage on the NVR and it records for over a month 24x7 in full high def. Night vision is excellent.

    Daytime Footage

    Night time Footage

Records at 1080p 30FPS, Full IP.

    I'm using 3x AVM542B Dome
    2x AVM459B 2MP bullet
    1x AVN420 Mini-dome

Netgear 16p POE switch and AVH516 NVR

    • That looks pretty decent. What the cost on a setup like that?

      • All up for NVR, WD Purple HDD's, Cameras and POE Switch it was between 2.5k-3k.

        • Thanks. Not too bad for a decent setup.

        • Gee crazy setup! Did you purchase It online?
