If You're Looking to Buy a Kobo Glo HD eReader - ask for Glo HD and Sleepcover for Combined $180 at JB -

The list price for these items is $179 for the Glo HD plus $45 for the sleepcover = total $224. I asked in store for Kobo and cover at $180 late Dec and was told they would do for $185, which I bought. Decided to buy another one (so my wife and I could have our own) about a week ago - and honestly thinking I had bought for $180 not $185, I asked for that price at 2 other JB's. One store said they couldn't go lower than $187 but another store agreed to do for $180, so that's the price I paid. All 3 stores were in Sydney (East and City). The Glo HD was on promotion for $159 when I did the first purchase but back to the normal $179 list price when I was given the $187 price and bought for $180. I have been buying books from Google Play using my $30 Telstra prepaid sims. Given that I bought those at prices of $1 and $5 the books are costing me 1/30 or 1/6 of the Play Store list price. Great way to built up a nice ebook library. Had been thinking for quite a while about buying an ereader. Really enjoying it - getting back into reading now - reading on the bus to and from work. Very pleased I went with Kobo and not Kindle - fantastic to be able to make use of the cheap Telstra credit to buy ebooks from Google Play (without having to do work-arounds as would have to do with the Kindle) - and I preferred the features of the Kobo as well. I'm reluctant to paste receipts or mention stores. Just ask for $180 combined price and see how you go (and report back) - you should be able to get for $187 or less.

I got the black cover in the first purchase and the cream cover in the second purhcase. In the second purchase they didn't have the reader in stock but gave me the cover for $30 and said I could come back and get the reader for $150 when they got stock - which they did about 2 days later, and kept their word on the price.

BTW - When I did the second purchase I didn't have the receipt from the first purchase on me - but I told the sales person I had bought for $180 and would be happy to bring in the receipt. When had had a look at the pricing on his computer he asked me again - both for $180? - and exclaimed a religious profanity - but nevertheless agreed to the $180 and didn't ask me to bring in the previous receipt.
