What is your thoughts on the NutriBullet or Nutri Ninja?

I am buying one tomorrow,
But i dont know what one to get:

    They're both idiotic.

I find it funny they call it a 'nutrient extractor' as opposed to a food processor or blender. The marketing is insinuating that your teeth, stomach and intestines aren't doing a good enough job of extracting the nutrients out of your food, so you need to buy an Nutribullet® to get the all the nutrients out of your fruit and veggies.

Screw the thousands years of human evolution, nay, the Nutribullet ® blender is the most optimal way of consuming your food.

  • What would you recommend then?

A cheap blender or a cheap stick blender.

  • I've read that NutriBullet are not that reliable, blades break etc, I've also read that their customer service is terrible (should you need to replace blades and so forth).

I have the Nutri Ninja Slim and it's been great for my needs and I haven't had any issues with it yet.

    • With the Nutri Ninja Slim is it more a smoothie?
Is it thick? when mixed iwth water?

      • I use it mainly for smoothies and it works well, have blended soft foods and makes a puree well too.

It can be thick, depending what you put in it, If you're planning on working it quite hard then go with the BL480 as it has a more powerful motor.

    • I've had the NutriBullet for a year now, no issues at all. Very sturdy. My friend's one broke and they sent him a brand new one, no charge.

  • Go with BL480NZ. But get it from BL.

Neither - get a breville boss and forget struggle street

  • A $25 rocket blender from a home depot will do the job. I've been using one to grind kg of mineral crystals into fine powder.

    Back to the OP's questions.

Bought some cheapies based on my Bargain mentality. These worked fine to a degree, they didn't handle ice that well. Ice cubes wouldn't always be crushed completely and the smoothie was rather watery. If it was thicker, then it wouldn't blend. All 3 units ended in the bin. (I never paid more than $25 for any of them)

Likewise my $70+ Breville blender blade came apart grinding ice cubes (But that was 5 years old)

    No idea on Bullet

    Have the Ninja pro BL480NZ

Owned for 3 months and happy with ability to make smoothies from ice and fruit. Like all blenders it can be noisey when blending

Bought for $150 so Binglee deal Yummy listed is good price.

Like phones, everyone has an opinion like I do, but so far happy with my decision.

Like all products first in pay the price (they can sell for $249). At $143 they are more reasonable.

    • Thanks,
Yeah iv noticed people always error on the side of cheap and mention to always go cheap.
But like you said if blending ice a lot per week it aint going to last long.

I have the nutri ninja, use it daily. Blends protein powder in my drinks to perfection.
I make a carrot, ginger and coconut water drink a few times a week is really delicious.
I have also used it to make purée when I make it as a side dish (cauliflower with cheese or carrot and cumin) works super quick and easier than stick blending.
