Misleading 1st Gen -2nd Gen Intel Processor Logos Being Displayed

Just viewing this website selling Desktop computers and you can immediately see the rampant misuse of 1st gen, 2nd 3rd or even 4th Gen- Intel Core processors being displayed. wouldn't that be a case of false-misleading representations? I'm sure it's to get people who have no prior knowledge of Computer processors or IT knowledge/computer knowledge when they buy their computer and just 'hope for the best' when it comes to computing power/speed.

here is the website:

upon closer inspection of the actual desktop they display you see this:

Storm in a tea cup? Just google the cpu or wiki it. If ypu shower me pics of logos that just say 'intel i7' i couldnt tell you which gen it is.

  • Yikes - I thought you were exaggerating but this pretty much is a huge misrepresentation.

However, notice that the machine in the photos is the same one for all the options on their site - it even has the same service tag number. So I'm guessing the photo is really just an illustration of what an Optiplex 980 looks like. It's wrong to use logos for current chipsets to sell a computer that came out six years ago … it doesn't even support USB3 or SATA3.

Just like every other online retailer…..

  • They are also using that fake Windows 7 logo that seemed to get copied and reused everywhere…

    • Impossible! I have it on good authority that you absolutely CANNOT just copy and paste those "Certified by" pictures. They're special protected pictures that mean the retailer is 100% too legit to quit.

I can tell which gen the cpu is by the model number but have no idea about the logo, which I assume would be the case with most people.

Get the specs of any comp you intend to buy before purchase. SIMPLE…
Then again, the majority of people choose a computer by how it looks and have no knowledge or care about specs… fact.
Zero effort = get ripped off. They have no one to blame but themselves.

Many retailers use stock photos to display products… Ever seen a fast food ad for their slop burgers.. ever noticed the crap you actually get??? ……. nothing worth making a thread about here.

    • how can you compare computers with burgers? you must be eating too much 'fast food' my friend!

  • Can't Understand what the Problem is>? Shows the Cpu is an i7 860 Where does it say 4th gen?

  • Tehcookiemonsta - you seem to be defending people who are deceitful and overlooking logos that Intel should be declaring patents on. How hard would it be for this 'company' to find the right logos? they just can't be bothered eh?

    • if you pay $330 for that crap you deserve everything you get

      no sympathy from me
