Denlo Subaru and Tom Kerr Subaru - West Ryde

Hi all,
We live 4.5 hours from West Ryde and are planning on viewing 2 cars at both of the above dealerships.
I haven't dealt with a dealership in years and have read mixed reviews on the net about both of the above dealerships.
Does anyone have any recent experiences with both or one of them?
All of Denlo's cars now offer: * UP TO 6 YEARS SUBARU WARRANTY * 6 YEARS PREMIUM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE * 1 YEAR FREE SCHEDULED SERVICING

Would any of the above apply to services done at any Subaru authorised dealership (ie NOT done at Denlo's?). It's useless if it is only offered with them for us.
We want the car for about 2-2.5K less than what is currently advertised, and with the run out sale, we thought this might be a good opportunity. Are we right to think that way?
The cars would still have 2 years of the manufacturers warranty which is all we are after, don't need the added coverage, especially if we have to get an annual service at Denlo's in order for it to remain eligible.
I'm assuming they won't be too happy to remove any of the above 'extras', but how does everyone go negotiating those extras down (ie. i don't want any of them, and want a price drop for it)?

Thanks in advance.

  • Gday,

I'd ask them a few questions about the deal. Especially the roadside assist and the servicing. If you live in the country, its possible that the roadside assist may not service your area (unless its NRMA), in which case it wouldnt be much use. As for the servicing, 1 year scheduled servicing isnt much, considering service intervals are so long these days. You may only get one or two services (which would likely just be an oil change). See what you can get a salesperson to do for you over the phone, before committing to driving all the way to West Ryde. If they arent helpful, perhaps call around some other Subaru dealerships in Sydney and see what they can offer.

From my experience, many dealers won't make big promises over the phone, but saying that you will be coming a long way and are serious about a purchase may help you get something concrete from them.

    all the best!
