Budget Gaming PC $700-$800

Hi, its been awhile since i bought a pc and i havent been up to date on the latest cpu, graphic cards etc. so im wondering if you guys can help me put one together

budget is $700-800 for the pc without monitor etc., i will be doing some gaming on it such as starcraft 2, heroess of the storm , dota 2, GTA 5 and possibly more

There is a similar build posted earlier https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/231733
however it has AMD, in the past i have had really bad experience if AMD so i prefer a intel

I've looked on the forum and online for budget builds around this price however the parts are from different shops so i was wondering if theres a shop i would able purchase everything and have it made

Thanks in advance

  • That one that kpyam2000 posted isn't bad, but i'd seriously recomend, changing the cpu to an i5, and wearing the extra cost.

    • What would be the best value i5?

      • the i5 4460 is good, but if you can, i'd personally get i5 6500 for around the same price though. They're both good, and will get you at least 2 extra years of solid performance over the i3, the 6500 will get you a good 10% better performance though, and shouldn't be anymore than $20 more to find.

  • There is free shipping over at Newegg atm, so I'd recommend looking around there. The low AUD makes building a PC right now kind of expensive however. Plus, DIY. Cable Management aside, and working on small cases like those BitFenix, building a PC isn't hard. Its like assembling Lego.

Starcraft 2 isn't a demanding game by any stretch. Same for Dota 2. HoTS is such a terribly optimized game that its going to lag regardless of how powerful your PC is. Only GTA V is kind of heavy, but a Haswell i5 (You might be able to get Skylake if your stretch out your budget up a grand) + a low-mid range GFX card like the 950/960 should manage ~50-60FPS on Very High at 1920x1080. Tone the setting down a few notch, and a 750 Ti will manage (but finding those now can be a pain in the ass).

Store, depending on where you are. MSY and UMart I know charge around 70-100 for building cost, and it should be the same ballpark elsewhere.
