Mitsubishi Magna Executive TF 1997: Cabin Air Filter?

So the AC is playing up lately, don't want to spend money to regas as the car is pretty old. But I've read that cleaning the cabin air filter often does the trick.

  1. Do the above model actually has cabin air filter built-in?
  2. If so, how can I access it to replace.
  3. Where should I buy cabin air filter for this particular model?

NB: Cabin air filter is different than engine air filter.

  • Ryco does not list a pollen filter for your car. I guess it doesn't have one.

  • No cabin filter..I had my AC regassed 97 TF , only lasted about 2 years, can't justify another $200 so I'm back to fresh air.

    • +1

Well then, I'll ride it in commando mode…

  • As above, no. I don't think pollen filters became common until the mid 2000s.

A full pollen filter would not affect the cooling per se, it would only reduce the flow rate of the ventilation system i.e. it would "blow" less and have this same effect whether on cool or fan or heat.

  • Just wedge a tissuebox in its place, I'm sure it'll meet or exceed Mitsubishi requirements
