eBay Listing for Telstra Credit Removed

Hi All,

I've had a listing removed from ebay, it was $10 telstra credit, transfer to credit me 2 u. Has anyone had this happen to them?

from ebay:
After reviewing your eBay account, it appears that you have violated eBay's policy. As a result, we've taken the following actions on your account:
- Selling privileges have been temporarily restricted. You won't be able to list new items for 3 days. You're also not allowed to register a new account during this time.
- Item listings have been removed. A list of removed items is available further down in this email.
- Any fees for listings ended early because of this violation will not be credited to your account.

Your listing has been removed and is in violation of the Digitally Delivered Goods Policy. You listed an item that offered digital delivery. As we would have no way to track digital delivery of goods which could potentially cause bad member experience when it comes to issues of Items Not Received or Significantly Not As Described. We do not allow such listings on the site. Please do not relist the item.

Seems straight forward to me. eBay does not allow digital goods to be sold. Steam keys for example.

It doesn't seem surprising, as it does violate their policy. I haven't had it happen to me because I don't try to list things against policy.

  • Maybe it's just being enforced now, seemed to be pretty common.

It means someone reported you or your listing didn't hint hint send it (not) via mail.

Anyway, just to make a measly $10 minus fees, why risked getting scammed because there is no seller protection.

wild speculation mate. It actually seems to be a change of policy, or more accurately ebay have enforced current policy. I can't find telstra credit on ebay as of today, and I have been able to buy/sell for ages. Just like Qantas Club Passed, they are against policy and can be removed but as of today many are listed.

        it's a measly $7

Not wild speculation, the policy is old. I used to be a power seller and I dabbled into digital products at one stage.

but as of today many are listed.

Not sure what you mean, plenty of digital products are listed on Ebay since forever.

          it's a measly $7

$7 for Ebay account red flag or Paypal charge back scam that can freeze your account…great business plan? Let it go, I say.

That advice is contradictory, but thanks. @plmko:

nothing new they just dont pick up on its most of the time. post again and it should be right. they don't allow sim cards or groupon vouchers either but unless someone reports your listing its unlikely to be found out. i know one seller kept reporting his competition until they did it back to him.
