Please help me find a good pressure washer on sale at the moment

I noticed that our walkways around the house, the pool area, deck etc. seem to get darker with every season and finally decided that it might be time to give them a proper and thorough clean.

I have never used a pressure washer before, but based on what I read it seems to be the right tool.

What I am wanting to do:
- clean (concrete and stone) walkways
- clean pool tiles
- maybe give the outside walls of the house a wash (bricks)?
- anything else I cant think of at the moment

What I am looking for:
- reasonable quality (i.e. does not break down after 1year)
- must be able to connect to bucket and hose
- must have wheels
- I think it should have at least 1600PSI (not too sure?)

I dont plan to clean my car with it and I dont need any fancy attachments other than what might be useful for the above tasks (although of course anything in addition is a bonus). I worry a bit though that the pressure might damage some of the grout between the pool tiles, as they already have cracks and fractures in some areas, so any advise related to this would also be appreciated!

Thanks!

PS: I read some old topics about the same on this site, but I am looking for some bargain which is available today/this week.

Karcher is the brand you want. The model comes down to your budget.

See if you can borrow someone's for the weekend, or even hire it, since you will find it will sit in your garage doing nothing for most of the year.

Re the cracks and grout, just test on inconspicuous area first and change your distance from ground accordingly.

    • Borrowing (or even renting) might actually be a good idea. I could imagine myself using it once and then collecting dust for the next three years in the shed.

    • Can't agree with you more. Had one before, then water restriction. Pretty noisy. The need to pack up. Good idea but used probably few times in years and sit in the garage.
Have a look at this wand as cheaper alternative. Not as strong but maybe just you need to start with.

  • I prefer Gerni over the Karcher. Worked at SCA and we got a significant less number of returns from Gerni.

I am really liking my AR Blue from Masters though. It has great warranty, but I guess it is now uses haha

  • Get ready for the Karcher vs Gerni discussion! After much research and deliberation I went with a Gerni Super 140.3. Can't fault it as yet. On the expensive side but would more than suit your needs.

    • Haha, yes, I saw that on other threads. Seems like Gerni has a few more followers, so I would probably just go with the majority and hope the best.

I recently bought this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-JETUSA-High-Pressure-Water-Wa…. It doesn't have wheels or the ability to draw from a bucket unfortunately but I've been using it for the past week on my driveway and it works flawlessly. It has 1600 psi continuous pressure with a maximum of 2900 psi. I might suggest a higher model on their site that has the features you need, although I only have experience with the lower model. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-JETUSA-High-Pressure-Washer-E….

  • I'm wanting to buy something for my balconies – walls and floor. I left it for a year and now I have cobwebs and spiders pretty much everywhere outside so I avoid it now. Can anyone recommend a good model if you don't want to spend too much, or is this something you should spend the extra money on? Ideally I didn't really want to pay more than $300 and still lower the better, but are the cheaper ones just rubbish?

Like for example, will something like this be good enough?

Or has anyone ever bought one from the UK? Prices seem to look way better.
