It doesn't seem to matter what time I set notifications for, I always get notifications that are expired. Probably due to being ozbargained. What is the premium time to get notifications and "I have forgotten how to change it"

You can exclude expired deals from your newsletter.
My Account - subscriptions - newsletter
Check: Exclude expired deals
Also:
From there you can change the time it is received
Send me daily newsletters by email
in the morning
mid-day
in the evening
You can also subscribe to front page deals.
My Account > subscriptions > events
And then turn on "Notify me by email when a deal reaches front page". That should hopefully save you checking the OzBargain front page every 20 minutes however you might get around 15 new emails a day.
Or you can set your email to notify you of every deal.The email pushes with in seconds.(mobile)
Know what you mean - same issue when I was a newbie.
Dumb way but works - I hold on to the phone anytime (sleep, bathroom), log on to OZB every 2 mins and click deals on top then new deals (when possible)
I check the live site approx every 20 mins and still miss deals.
I don't think that there is a right time.
