Combine or Split Internet/Mobile with Provider. What Do You Do?

Hi there,

I am currently with TPG for home Internet as well as 2 mobile phones. I find the monthly costs and quota to be decent (but not perfect).

Since being "forced" to port over to Vodafone (as well as the drop in data), I have been wondering if there is a better deal out and about. I have looked for a "package" for 2 mobiles and home Internet as well as purchasing separately. So far, not so good…

I'm currently on unlimited ADSL 2+ with the $10 add on for International calls. Both phones are on the $29 deal which includes International calls. Total monthly cost is about $130. I'm happy to pay a little more for better service, but not overly so much more… Perhaps $150.

Data and International calls are important for me and my family. My parents have mobiles but want to use our home phone for calling my brother in the UK… so I need a phone with International minutes. Don't ask why… just is.

So far, I am undecided on whether I should move on from TPG.

What do you do to manage your mobiles and home Internet?

  • On Vodafone…

$38 per month (24m commitment, they lock you in but allow you to upgrade to a standard 24m plan with a handset if you need)
    3Gb Data
    Unlimited calls in Oz
Unlimited SMS to anyone in world
    90 Mins international calls.

$40 Month to Month (1GB data)
    $40 12m (3GB Data)

Can go on lower plan, no international minutes but they auto add on at $6 which adds 60m to the plan.

If you are happy with TPG for your Adsl stay with them, no need to bundle phones and broadband together

  • Split it to get the best deal for each.
