Need an AC Router, Big Home Network

Hi guys, Im in need of a new AC router, as my stock standard Optus CG3000v2 cable modem has terrible wireless that drops out all the time. I need something that is capable of handing a busy network and has good QoS settings. It will be bridged. I currently have about 20 wired ethernet devices including CCTV and NAS and probably that again in wireless devices. Im gathering I will need a router with a powerful processor (dual core or whatever is good). I don't want to spend much more than $200. I have a $90 Centrecom voucher if that helps, but I don't care where or what I buy if its much cheaper elsewhere. I was thinking of an R7000 or R8000 or an Archer C9? Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Love the R8000, its a beast. can get it for $225 with the ebay code at the moment here

    • Got that one, cheers.

      • Let me know how you go with it :)

        • Installed it today, bridges my cable modem, changed the IP range to the same as my fixed IP devices and voila. Amazing speed, an amazing device. Even my wired internet speed has improved from 70-80mbps to about 102mbps. I guess the dual cores in the router really help the Network routing speeds. Also web surfing is much snappier, pages load instantly. Very happy with purchase.

        • @thorton82: that's awesome! Glad to hear. Happy with the range too?

        • @shapers: Yeah, works throughout the entire house, still get 60-70mbps in the far rooms on 2.4ghz
