that's the tuna tempters, which seems to go halfprice every few weeks.

  • Catalogue price? Till end of play Tuesday?
Tempted to run in and grab 20

    • +1

There were plenty at my local ww.
I grabbed a bunch …should keep me going for a couple of months. No expiry.

  • = lunch for a week $7 !!

A single can is enough for lunch?

    • Let loose and eat 2 for $2
      Mix and match flavours
Or add some salad but not the pre packed variety !

Or add some salad but not the pre packed variety !

Yes, you wouldn't want to get salmon-ella ;)

    • They are surprisingly filling. Maybe they have a lot of protein and oils and that's why, who knows.

    On rice crackers,go well also

I suspect the correct grammar is

John West Salmon Tempter $1 (Was $2.29) @ Woolworths

the issue is with the plural 'tempters' - however that is woolworths choice not mine

Was is used in the first and third person singular past. It is used for statements of fact.

Were is used in the second person singular and plural and first and third person plural.\

however that is woolworths choice not mine

        woolworths didn't post this title…

        • +1

it is the products name in the singular "tempters" - i can't be expected to rename it

So the tempters product was priced $2.29

          How is this incorrect grammar?

        • -3

          @sian72:

So the tempters product was priced $2.29

the tempters products were priced $2.29

          read your title(s)

          Salmon tempters $1 @ Woolworths was $2.29 = lunch for a week $7 !!

John West Salmon Tempters $1 (Was $2.29) @ Woolworths

you did not use the word 'product'

        • +1

@jv: tempters in this case is the singular

i.e. the tin was $2.29 not the tins were $2.29

in this case tempters is the singular

          the term product is irrelevant

        • @sian72:

the tin was $2.29 not the tins were $2.29

you did not use the word 'tin' either…

          read your title(s)

          Salmon tempters $1 @ Woolworths was $2.29 = lunch for a week $7 !!

John West Salmon Tempters $1 (Was $2.29) @ Woolworths

          tempter is singular
          tempters is plural

if you used the word 'product' or 'tin', then that would have been your objective noun. But you used 'tempsters' as the noun…

        • @jv: tempters is the proper noun
It is the name of the product
          "John West Tempters Salmon"

        • @sian72:

          tempters is the proper noun

not really, they've just used the common noun…

          tempter
          ˈtɛm(p)tə
          noun
a person or thing that tempts.

        • @jv: John West have used the word tempters not tempter
On further consideration Tempters is their trademark Trade Mark : 674928
In that case Trademarks and service marks are proper adjectives. Not nouns. Not verbs. Trademarks are adjectives that modify a generic noun … but now this is just getting silly.

        • @sian72:

          Trademarks are adjectives

          LOL…

Plus no need to take expensive fish oil capsules?

    canned fish contains sfa omega-3

    • yum !!!

    • Really?
Bummer….. So I've been scoffing those horrid sardines for nothing?
      Any links to confirm?
I'm kinda hoping your wrong as I can't afford our local supermarket average fish price of around $29 to 35/kg of fresh.
Neither am I that keen on chia for my omega 3.

      • sardines might be ok and are apparently a pretty good source if like them. but last time i looked at canned salmon & tuna is was pretty woeful

    • What do you mean? What's sfa?

  • +1

These (especially the 'in Springwater' variety - will sell fast. Usually not necessary, but at this price I'd advise stockpiling!

  • How long are these supposed to last? I've never been able to find the expiry dates on these (or is it just indefinitely or something like that)

    • +2

No expiry on the can - you can keep them in your survival pack for years to come

      • Can use with AMEX $100-$20 offer, LOL.

  • My cat can get stuffed

    • Your cat can self-taxidermy?

  • Anyone know where this salmon is sourced from?

    • +3

this is OzBargain web site, not Greenpeace
      :)

  • good deal, and tastes better than tuna

  • +1

Thanks so much you are a star for posting! saw the salmon with the tuna when I shopped and thought it was still normal price and there to trick me! Never thought they would put it on for $1. Just got 30 cans I'm right for a month. Again heaps of thanks

  • frozen skinless atlantic salmon fillets are only slightly more @ $17/kg (canned stuff works out to be ~$15/kg), taste heaps better, very little sodium, heaps of omega-3 and other beneficial nutrition. dunno why people want to buy the canned rubbish

    • because they can have a can on the fly without defrosting or cooking ;)
Best for office ppl/students or ppl that can't cook

    • The canned stuff is $10.53 /kg

    • Pop lid and scoff.
No prep and no clean up bar the teaspoon if your so inclined..
