Buying Woolworth wish gift cards with egift cards

You used to be able to buy wish gift cards with egift cards. I did this as more petrol stations supported physical wish gift cards.

According to the FAQ https://everydaygiftcards.com.au/gift-cards/learn-more/faq this is no longer possible. Please confirm this and if so when did it change?

  • Never had a problem, but haven't done it for a while since I stocked up on the 10% off bigw cards.

I wonder if this more refers to someone receiving an egift card and emailing in to request a physical card instead?

  • Yeah the last time I did this was 2 months ago before this FAQ entry was written.

    • I think the FAQ existed around about the time we were all attempting to convert the Big W egiftcards.

The software at the time at Big W wasn't set up to block the transactions.

The result varied from store to store as to whether the staff would allow it.

  • big won't change them anymore, although its hit and miss. Swapping egift cards that are woolworths ones for physical ones, shouldn't be a problem, although don't see the need, same same aren't they

    • Nope. Physical wish gift cards are supported at more petrol stations then electronic egift cards.

They are the same, Some attendants just dunno what a egift card is. Insist.

        • Nope.

Commonwealth bank POS machines don't support it; only verifon does. There is even a filter on the Woolworth's site to find Woolworth's owned sites which always work. Caltex owned sites don't always work.

It's depend on the person operate on the counter. i have been knock back before, some poor souls simply don't want you to take advantage even no harm to them whatsoever, generally is pointless to argue, just go to a different store or go back different time or another person.

most time i can convert them with no question ask. i had once served by a service manager to do this and gone like a charms!

For those of you who understand how leverage works, you would purchase the eGiftcards from a provider who rewards not just yourself as the purchaser, but also the people who referred you into the system. Entertainment Book, RACV club etc just don't cut the mustard as they only reward your own shopping.
