Cheapish night light

Hi all

I'm looking around for a cheapish night light that I can put in my hallway so that the little one can see their way down the hallway without having to turn on a light. We've been leaving the bedroom TV on all night, but it's wearing a little thin.

Looking around Woolies and Coles, I've seen ones $15 to $20, but they're licensed. We're not really looking for anything licensed…just something that can light up the hallway enough so she can see.

Is anyone aware of any cheapish night lights? Around the $10 mark would be ideal - online or instore. I'm not confident that I'll find anything at that price, but it never hurts to ask :).

Thanks.

Try Big-W or K-mart? Or those asian goods store which sells a bit of everything?

I am pretty sure I have seen night light of around $6-7. Hope that helps.

Agreed…The little $2 stores have them real cheap

    Bunnings?

  • a small table lamp and a timer? bunnings would be my bet…

You can buy those little nightlights that are about the size of a matchbox, but they might be too small/not let off enough light

  • another alternative is to buy an LED globe and put into a reading lamp like davo says. The LED globes use only 1-2 watts of power and can be reasonably bright, without hurting the ever increasing electricity bill. Bunnings has a range. Dealextreme has good ones for cheap prices BUT they are edison screw not bayonet cap.

  • I presume you don't have a power outlet in your hallway?

In that case just try one like this:

    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26934
    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2553

If you haven't used that site before, I think it has a very good reputation around the world and amongst OzBargainers…

Otherwise Biw W/Kmart/Bunnings etc should all have wall socket types, and I'd be surprised if there were none under $10.

Also what if you gave her a torch?

    • Some of the products at dealextreme are not very reliable or well-made, so probably best to read some of the q&a down at the bottom to avoid disappointment and wasting your money. I still like them though.

  • ALDI has or had some night lights on special, that turn themselves on when it gets dark.

    They were advertised for $7
