Go Via Vs. E-Toll (RTA) Vs. Breeze (Eastlink) Toll Providers (or Comparing Any Other of The Potential Providers Available)

Hi,
What are everyone's opinion on the above etoll providers?
I've heard mixed reviews about Go Via and Breeze. E-toll i've heard is good as its government regulated.
Go Via is the cheapest from what i can see. Are there hidden fees with any of them? Do you get charged any more than what an actual toll is on any road in Australia?

Appreciate your input.

  • Just so I understand the madness - do all these operate on the same routes or are they seperate roads?

  • I've got a Triton and I'm not a trading it's for the dogs. Citylink class it as a commercial and fees are way up. I hear some of them class it as a normal car. Just have to figure out which one and sign up with them.

    • Which account did you end up applying for. I am sick of paying extra for my ranger to be on CityLink.

      • Go via.
        Very happy with them.
Note: I use tolls only occasionally.

  • I went for breeze as they don't charge any account keeping fees or require a deposit. They are in VIC but work on all toll roads. The only downside would be that you can't claim back the M5 toll, they only let you do that with NSW ones.

    • Just like to point out that they also don't charge credit card fees.

  • Does anyone know the price difference between their tagless accounts? These accounts charge additions for "plate recognition fee". I do not like gudgets and I only occassionally need to pay toll charge so I wouldn't mind my GoVia's $0.46 per toll charge "plate recognition fee", meanwhile, it's too hard to find this information on other etoll providers' website. It seems only GoVia have this charge published.

  • Just noticed that my govia tag wasn't working - called up to get new tag and get the video fees refunded 46c/time, no problems. Then also happened to notice when i had used airport link tunnel the toll fee was higher than it should have been - airport link had included their own 93c video fee into the toll cost which govia then added theirs on top of too - that can't be right, surely they both aren't using video checking. govia also refunded this no problem. glad i checked.
