Domino's pizza's have shrunk - again!

Good grief!

We haven't had Dominos for about 8 weeks as both kids were away.

I just now ordered four pizzas & when I opened the boxes— omg! Wtf happened?

I'm talking seriously small— as in, all kinds of room in the box now!

And speaking of the box— I'm thinking that's smaller as well…

Anyone else here notice this?

  • Nope, can't say I've noticed a change in the last few months. And I certainly took advantage of the 50% deal last week. Shrinkage definitely happens though, it's not like I used a ruler.

      From personal experience?

It's not the size of the pizza, it's what you do with it that counts.

  • Do you always get it from the same place, I've noticed some dominos seem to have better sizes then others over the years. Sometimes I've been lucky and had big ones, and few times I've been in places where they were either small or shrinking in size over time.

    • Yep, same place…it's shocking the size change..

  • I dare say the store might just be trying to cut costs or had a rookie making the base and a manage that cbf. I'd post photo's of them in their boxes on their facebook page asking wtf. Probably get free pizzas and an apology out of it.

    • Show us the photo too :)

  • speaking of the box— I'm thinking that's smaller as well…

If the pizza is smaller that is almost certainly true in order to better manage your perceptions ;)

    • I wish I'd kept the one pizza box I had from before (was using it as a "tent" over a new plant when we got some hot days, then tossed it). I swear that the old box didn't fit in our indoor recycle basket…the new one drops right in…

    Honey I Shrunk The Dominos!

  • I wish I'd thought to take a photo— the pizza was inhaled by the kids- lol…

    I will next time though!

What do you expect for a pizza that costs $5-$8 pick up? I have no idea who pays $12+ for one but seeing as there are vouchers nearly every single day I can't complain.

They just do it because they love you and want to assist with portion size.

  • Nah they havent shrunk. I've been buying pretty much the same damn pizza for the last 18 months or so.

    $5.95 Deluxe

    $7.95 Supreme

    All deep pan.

I generally dont do the $5 value pizza because its just not good value. For 95c more you get all this: Pepperoni, ground beef, smoked leg ham, capsicum, red onion & mozzarella with oregano with the deluxe.

For $6-$8 as people say, two people get a decent feed or a pig out for one fat bastard. Either get a bottle of water from the boot of my car or get a frozen whatever from Maccas or HJs.

Between that and two Bacon deluxe on tuesdays and the $5.25 Big Mac meal its cheap as eating.

  • My son finally got back from being away & I showed him the new pizza box. He said, "in no way did the box fit in our indoor bin before (I didn't think so either).

The previous pizza box was larger & the pizza in the box had about 2cm around the edges. A decent pie.

Now, the box is much smaller & the gap around the pizza was closer to 3-4cm…

That, is a huge difference. It was like when you go to a pizza place that has small, med, & lg/family "pans" on the wall? Well, the Dominos used to be "family" & now what we got was "small".

I'll be returning to making our own pizzas on pita bread— cheaper & tastier anyway.

If you haven't noticed the change in size, they might not have implemented it in your area yet, who knows?
