Hi all I am looking to buy a new smartphone in the next month like the galaxy s7 or another phone as im getting sick of my LG G4. where is the best place to shop for a smartphone? which online stores and Retail stores are the best?
Do you buy your smartphones Online or at a Retail store?
Iv been in telco for many years, from my experience if you know what you want and don't need much after sales support you will always find a better deal online.
it also comes down to whether or not you're happy to go for an overseas stock ( shipped ) handset rather than buy A-Tick Australian stock which most places locally sell i.e. jb hifi, harveys, mobileciti & your local phone store.
Major differences are & not limited to:
- model feature variants
- operator firmware
- upgrade-ability & timeliness of firmware updates
- big concern for most, warranty:- Au stock comes generally with 24 months local warranty whereas OS stock generally goes back to HK & can take a while.
- OS is generally cheaper @ least by $100-$200
Just some thoughts to take in before you drive down to your local store or jump online & buy from the cheapest price you see

I bought my last phone at DWI Cameras. I had no issues with my order, although if you go through the comments on Ozbargain, you will find mixed experiences. They had the lowest price for the model I was looking for (Xperia).
