Yet another ploy for brainless numpties to fork over more hard-earned cash in exchange for a vibrating, glowing gizmo that you already have.

It is a bit ridiculous. I use to buy the latest and greatest but in recent years the prices have become obscene and the upgrades only incremental. I plan to keep my phones for atleast 3 years now, not worth wasting money on them.

Yeah used to upgrade every 2yrs,but been pretty happy with my s5, might hang onto it a bit longer (contract runs out in June, might just go byo plan)

        • It's always better to go BYO.

I wait until the phone drops in price once or twice then buy it outright and then buy a sim only service.

Never understood the hype of the newer versions of phones Samsung made, since they effectively removed what made them great- microSD card, removable battery, FM radio, etc.

Plus the price will obviously be ridiculous too, given what the S6 is selling now.

lol FM radio. You can listen to FM radio without a radio inside the phone. The wonders of the internet. I can't believe there are still people who listen to FM radio. You can buy them for $5.

This phone has a microSD card and removable batteries are history. Use a powerbank instead of being a whiny woman.

I still listen to FM radio of local stations from time to time, which is obviously a lot cheaper than streaming and wasting bandwidth for practically the same thing- I'm sure there are people similar to me.

From what I'm aware microSD is only rumoured, and removable batteries are still something I believe should be an option as they extend the lifetime of a phone and they can help when you also experience freezing issues. I'm aware of powerbanks, but each to their own.

Lastly I am a male, but I find that last bit offensive- particularly to the women who do browse this site. Last I heard Ozbargain wasn't gender specific, but should probably be to the types of people like you :).

        • I agree with you, other than the removable battery. The idea about extending the life of the phone do not sound completely true to me when you can send it to Samsung and get the battery replaced (at a cost), convienience to do so is probably something I'd definitely agree with (with Samsung not offering walk in service centre and everything in Australia).

I do wish they'd reintroduce mSD card support. I've been constantly hearing that it'd happen as that was one of the major major complaints from all the retailers and apparently it made a huge difference in sales. Whereas I've heard that removable batteries didn't, or the trade off between battery life (you can cram more in) + design to having it detachable was good for sales.

I hope they don't remove IR blaster (I think they'd do so considering Note 5 didn't have one).

          Go back to tumblr.

    • They have microSD slot on the S7 so you can get hyped again.
