Oppo R7s/R7plus or Samsung Note 4 or ?

Hi, My wife's Samsung note 2 suddenly died this week (after 30mths of usage). I googled and people says this is called the Sudden Death Syndrome…anyway..I am now looking to buy my wife a replacement phone.

A couple of things my wife would want:

  1. A big screen. 5.5" or bigger.
  2. Full HD screen at least.
  3. Snappy performance so I think that means 3GB ram or more.
  4. 32GB of storage with MicroSD support
  5. Dual Sim a bonus but not absolutely essential
  6. NFC - very highly desirable as we use NFC with our camera to transfer photos all the time.
  7. Long lasting battery. I think that means 3000mAH or more these days.
  8. Fast charging feature very desirable also.
  9. Good primary and secondary camera. Yes. Wifey likes selfie with parents/relatives/friends.

I have spent the last few days gathering data and I can think of these phones that sort of qualify:

  1. Oppo R7s - satisfy all the above except no NFC. It has 4GB ram superb.
  2. Oppo R7Plus - satisfy all the above also no NFC. Has 3GB ram instead but the screen is a super 6" size.
  3. Samsung note 4 - satisfy all the above and also has NFC. Screen is QHD even higher spec. Has NFC. Secondary camera not so good however.

We also consider Zenphone 2 but it looks like the battery although 3000mAH does not last as long as the Oppo R7s and some people say the screen is not as good as the Oppo.

Could I please have some comments as to which phone above is better and if there are any other viable choices?

Not asking anyone to do my homework for me…just asking for some opinions to steer me in the right direction.

Thanks a bunch.

Here is a list of phones that match your requirements

    The strict filters used were:
    Dual Sim
    NFC
    3G RAM
    SD Card Slot
    5.5" inches

If you relax the dual sim requirement, there are a few more options

Speaking from experience, the Note 4 is a great phone.

  • Thanks for the comments and also that gsmarena link for the phone finder…I wasn't aware of that site feature.

On another note…is Wireless1 the retailer ok to deal with? Are they good? Thanks again

Yeah Wireless1 is fine. They have a physical store in Parramatta.
