Dishwasher Loading Diagram

The loading of the dishwashers at my office is terrible, with glasses laid down on the bottom rack, mugs stacked on top of other mugs etc. The outcome being dishes generally not coming out clean, lots of stuff getting broken and just generally not enough plates/bowls/mugs/glasses/cutlery being available throughout the day, especially at lunch time.

I don't think this is a novel problem and other people must have made some creative images or even just a short list of guidelines to help fix this kind of behaviour. Does anyone have anything they can share?

  • Stacking a dishwasher is an art that I have mastered. Make sure items are not touching and anything that holds water is upside down, lighter items need to be placed as not to be upended by the water pressure.

  • 'Shadowing' is the key.
Everything must be placed so it does not block water from the jets getting all around every piece.
You need to find someone who is not a moron to stack the office dishwasher.

    • Sadly on my floor there are ~100 people, many of who seem to have no idea how such a thing works. When they load things in, they do it badly.

  • At least people seem to be loading the dishwasher. I work in an office where people leave the dirty dishes on the sink hoping the dishwasher fairy will load it up for them. Do these people expect mum to look after them. Disgusting lazy morons.

    • we had that same problem
once we installed a common camera in the kitchen issues resolved

  • Stacking a dishwasher is the adult version of tetris.
