Very sweet coffee. Full of toffee, caramel, cherry & treacle flavours. Juicy body & acidity with a maple syrup finish

Nicaragua La Bastilla Naturals

Intense acidity is complimented with the fruity sweetness of pears, apples and citrus. It is bright, crisp and clean with a rich aroma and a long pleasant finish. A well-rounded body with undertones of caramel and almonds.
Due to its altitude, natural conditions such as its micro climate, its shade trees, its soil and the way in which the plantation and ecological processing plant are managed, La Bastilla produces a quality of coffee that is very special, balanced, with a good body and aroma.

  • Can I pay extra & get 8 250 gm bags instead? ie 2 bags per coffee type. I'm going halves with someone otherwise too much coffee for me! Thanks.

    • I pm'd you :-)

  • is the prev deal with yirga still available? I was planning to order that on monday.

    • Yes deal is still active and link is still open :-)

      • First time i have bought from you, got my beans. No roast date listed, is that normal?

        • All roasted fresh to order :-)

        • +1

          @mannabeans:

I have to say im very impressed with the beans i have had so far.

My lucky dip was the Brazil Black diamond which i have been drinking over the last week and as described it was very chocolaty. Opened up the next bag today which is the Rwanda Ngoma and it is an absolute fruit bomb just like it says on the pack!

Roasting is spot on to bring out the flavours.

        • @awinner: Thanks for the feedback and great to hear that you are enjoying the coffees :-) Have a nice weekend

  • sigh i just made an order last night
i wouldve prefered this deal with bigger variety

  • Purchased!

OP, Just a comment on this offer.. You mention that it is a "480g Lucky Dip Speciality Coffee Beans" however further down it says "Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Kochere Washed Grade 1" - I am SUPER happy with this BTW :D

    • Sorry this coffee description was included by accident. This deal is for the 3 coffees listed and a single origin lucky dip as per deal listing.

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe is still available though on the other active deal at the $69.95 price point. Happy to refund this deal if you wish to change.

  • Hey Rep, the Lucky dip (Panama Don Pepe Catuai) is quite tasteless. I know you labeled it to drink first, but I have to grind it very fine to get some taste out from BES980.

    • Which deal are you referring too please? It can't be this one as it was only listed Friday so no one would have received it yet. Are you drinking the Panama coffee at the moment?

Just so that I can establish the age of the coffee you're referring too.

Also when extracting through the espresso machine try aiming for a 25-30 second extraction.

      • The 12/01 deal. I need a fine grind for the extraction to start flowing at 8 seconds and stop at 30 seconds. Definitely a huge difference compared to the previous batch of beans I had. My grind settings are 26 for just roasted, 20 for 1 month in freezer, 17 for 3 months in freezer. I have to use 15 for your batch.

        • Thats good that you made the grind finer and are now getting an 8 sec pre infusion and 30 sec extraction.

There are various factors that will effect the grind and adjustments needed. Freshness of coffee being one of them along with humidity, temperature and heat through the grinder burrs.

Also a major factor to consider is the size of the coffee beans themselves. Theses can vary greatly across countries, variatel and processing methods. Smaller beans will usually require a coarser adjustment while bigger beans will usually require a finer adjustment to the grind setting.

This could explain why you needed a finer grind but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

  • Ordered.

We just bought a new machine, and it came with 1kg of quite respectable beans, so delayed our order by a couple of weeks.

I love my new Expobar Leva!

    • Hi Chris, congrats they are great machines :-) I also have the Expobar Barista Minore at home.

      • +1

        Expobar Leva,
        Breville Smart Grinder, and
        MannaBeans beans.

        All boxes ticked :-)
