These get recommended a lot, but neck pain for elderly has many potential causes, new pillow may not help.
You get 50% off these from time to time.

  • Agree with the Dunlopillo's.
Have one myself, and it has been fantastic. I've gone through a number of different pillows throughout the years, and now using the Dunlopillo Latex. Would definitely get it again if I needed a new pillow.
I got it at Harris Scarfe on a sale one time for less than $100.

But yes, neck pain has many different causes. Not only for the elderly, but anyone. A pillow may help, but it's unlikely that it is the cause of the problems in the first place.

  • Looks like the Dunlopillo, Tempur and Dentons are bit expensive for me (>$100). Is there any other options? Another question i have is what is diff in latex and memory foam? Which Contour is better or you recommend?

Buying shoes purely on recommendations from others is very hit and miss as all feet are different for so many reasons, you probably wouldn't buy a mattress without laying on it. Necks are very individual also.

If you want something you will enjoy try and lay down on them if you are able.

    • Memory foam is harder and takes a while to deform to shape comfortably. Latex is better from what I have been told. You can try them at Myer or other big stores. Wait for a sale, then it's $80.

  • I bought a Dunlopillo latex pillow many years ago and it lasted and lasted… well over ten years and edging up towards 20.

I recently replaced it and it's just not like I remembered it! I have recently developed fairly constant neck and shoulder pain. Of course there are other things that no doubt contribute to that (too much time on the computer, anybody?) but I notice that it is somewhat better when I use anything BUT the Dunlopillo. Which is sad because I do like it - I just don't seem to be able to sleep on it - otherwise I would have highly recommended it, too.
