Freddo Frog share bags at half price, just in time for a birthday party!

Up and Go 6 packs for just over $4. Not as good as exactly $4 but worth getting a couple just in case there is a long gap between half price specials.

    • All that does is make me miss strawberry/mint packs :(

    • was about to buy 20 small cadbury packs..
will wait for three more days now..

    • How many Freddos in a share pack?

      • Can't remember now since they reduced the pack size and left the price the same. I think it used to be 15 and now it is 12.

        • +2

With the Freddo share packs, it used to be 20 and now it's 15. I'll be stocking up on these, it's ages since either Woolies or Coles had them at half price!

          @SimbaGirl:

          Thanks for the clarification.

  • +2

Cheers for this! Noticed the John West tuna is more or less permanently on sale in one supermarket or the other now, almost feel bad for the suckers that grab it at full price.

    • +1

There are so many things like that. Soft drink cans, chocolate bars, Kettlw chips etc.

  • thank you
Not as sharp as last weeks specials but i guess they cant do it every week otherwise they might go broke

      You are joking aren't you?

All small businesses like Coles and Woolworths need our sympathies.

Though that's not gonna stop me going to Aldi and paying 80% less in a few months - seriously screw those guys! :D

    • +1

It also wouldn't make them "specials".

  • +3

    cheaper at aldi

    • what is?

      • +1

        Everything.

        • What about love?

        • even vodafone vouchers?

        • Try buying natural peanut butter, Aldi don't sell it at any price. Same with heaps of other stuff.

You like junk food, yep they have it.

Arnotts Mini Wagon Wheels 190g $1.82

    Yes please!!

Thanks op….. once again these should be standard prices… their catalogue should say "We will not rip you off this week for the following 7 items, everything else…….

    • +1

Lol, yup agreed there. I mean if you need it then it can't be helped but some of the standard rrp prices..

      • That would have the effect of people not having the delusion of getting a bargain every single time that they shop when really they are offering less and less value as a constant ongoing process.

  • +1

Why do they never discount healthy food, the margins on those products are so high. I guess real food holds it's value

    • +2

Because healthy food doesn't sell or addictive. Cheap junk food and you will get people who buy every week.

    • +8

You have it completely ass backwards: healthy food does not have high margins.

The high margins are in items where cheap ingredients are combined with flavourings, sugars and fats.

Usually as part of the marketing effort a "healthy" ingredient is added like "Fruit" but the "Fruit" will be in amounts to have no health benefit at all like 0.5% or some other pointless concentration of "healthy" food like adding folate to milk for example.

By using imagery in labelling and other marketing consumers rational mind is bypassed and the idea is placed inside the consumers head that the item is healthy unless the consumer has a better reference point about the product.

      • +1

@diji1 You are absolutely right. But still a shame that the supermarkets don't discount healthy foods often.

I still remember that one time Woolies had a half price discount on Quinoa… good times.

      • Thank you. Great summary.. Ozinsight.

      • Yeah, but what about something like peanut butter. The cheaper stuff has far more additives and processing than expensive stuff, which is generally 100% peanuts. Why do I have to like peanut butter so much!

  • Vodafone Prepaid USB Modem 3G with 1.5GB Included Data $9

      • Looks like just recharges based on TA post.

I'll buy around 6 if I can. Save myself and missus $45 for the next 3 months

        • Thanks. Definitely very handy for the mobile BB especially.
