2013 Toyota Hilux 17000km - What's It Worth?

Hi,

My dad is planning on selling his 2013 Toyota Hilux (black) with 17000km on it.
Features: automatic, sr5, 4x4, My14
What do you think it's worth? Should we sell it online(is this safe?) or go to a dealership?

We have been offered 40k from a dealership(have to purchase one of their cars) but online prices are a lot higher… I have seen an online price of 45k for a 40000km Hilux.

I have no idea about car prices or anything to do with cars so please help if you can!

Thankyou

What ever someone is willing to pay.

Without you mentioning how much higher cars online go just sell it at the lowest online price.

Carsale.com has 40000km Hilux for around 45k. I cannot find one under 20000km on it so I cannot compare. This is my first time doing anything with cars so I have no idea!

get the details of the model.
        SR5 or SR.
        MY13, MY14, MY15.
        dual cab or single.
        manual or auto
does it have a rear canopy.
        any upgrades?

do a search in carsales with those specifics to give yourself an idea of what they go for.

here is a search of 2013 hilux's from cheapest to most expensive

get the specifics of your dad's hilux to get a more accurate price.

If you're busy or desperate then trade it in, less headache.

If you don't mind waiting and dealing with potential tyre kickers list the car at $45000

    get a roadworthy done.
advertise on carsales or similar site for what the same make is going for
have the transfer papers from queensland roads ready.
only accept cash or bank cheque or direct debit

    • Thankyou! Will take note of this

  • Don't trade it in that's for sure, the dealer will make their cut at your dads expense.

  • Also consider the fact that all the asking prices on carsales will likely be higher than what they actually change hands for. Especially so in the private sale market.

  • Have a look at Redbook to get a rough guide on what you can get.
    eg. http://www.redbook.com.au/cars/research/used/details/2013-to…

    *Private Price Guide $38,900 - $42,700
    *Trade In Price Guide $32,800 - $36,600

You may be able to get the higher end due to the low kms.

    • Thanks for the info
