HP best return option

I have a HP Envy X2 that I got from Officeworks just under a year ago and the keyboard has stopped working altogether, from what I have read this is not alltogether uncommon and not repairable. I were planning on taking it back to Officeworks but as the keyboard is possibly unrepairable and as it is old stock I am doubting they will have like replacments so I am thinking a refund is a possibility. Hp's closest new model would be the HP Spectre X2 which I like the look of but its RRP is $500 above what I paid for the Envy X2 so I started to wonder if I returned it to HP directly would I be more likely in the event that it couldn't be repaired to be offered the newer model as a replacement as opposed to only a refund at Officeworks?

    Office works 1300-633-423, hp 13 23 47.

    Thank me later.

    • So your saying call Officeworks or HP?

I would call hp. As office works would call hp anyways.

  • I should also add that I like the product as it suits my needs however as I am nearing the end of the specified warranty period I am slightly worried that a replacement keyboard would likely fail again in the near future like it seems to have for others

Call HP and be prepared for a long turnaround time.

  • After 3 different phone numbers then on the line for 45 mins and my explanations of the actual issue climbing well into double figures a new keyboard is on the way so will see if this fixes it. It seems although their product line has morphed the differences between laptops and tablets their technical support scripts are yet to catch up.

FYI warranty and technical support is 13 10 47

  • Well, received a new keyboard in just under 20hrs and has fixed the problem, cant really complain about that for a turn around time.
