Can anyone recommend shampoo/conditioner free of chemicals like SLS, parabens etc.

Trying to find some shampoo and conditioner that isn't ridiculously expensive that doesn't include these harsh chemicals.

Cheers

  • I buy from iherb. There's quite a few good ones- Giovanni Tea Tree shampoo is about $8.

Nature's Organic Shampoo and Conditioner available at Woolies and Coles for the princely sum of $1.90 for a 500 ml bottle. Four or five different variations. I started buying it because my daughter has very sensitive skin, but also likes to use a bucket of shampoo and conditioner whenever she washes her hair. This is the perfect solution. If you don't want to go that cheap, the same company makes Organic Care. Costs $3.50 a bottle.

I buy this one because it is Aussie owned.
      bonus that it is 'natural'.
The body wash is sub $3 also.

    • but these have sulphates in them?
any option for sulphate free and paraben free?

      http://shop.coles.com.au/online/national/natures-organics-no…

from the above it says has sodlium laureth sulphate

      • Try the L'Oreal ever last range.

  • Have you tried Organic Surge?
I used some at a B&B a couple weekends ago and really liked it.

Organic Care shampoo/conditioner is on special this week at Coles ($2.50 for 400ml) if you want to give that a try. They're supposedly plant-based with no parabens or SLS, ALS etc.

  • I think Sukin has no paraben whatsoever. The only issue is it doesn't have enough bubbles to wash my hair. Making me use so much more :/

    • I think the SLS makes it bubbly…

  • Amusing how Lush is all about fresh and natural products, they explain that SLS isn't bad and it's #1 ingredient in most of their products. But then you get other companies feeding consumers the idea that it's harsh and poisonous.

I found a water bottle at the shops that stated it was fat and sugar free. It must be better than other bottles waters since the others don't state this lolol

  • Dr Bronner's Castile range… here's the ingredients of one of their soaps:
Water, Organic Coconut Oil*, Potassium Hydroxide**, Organic Palm Kernel Oil*, Organic Olive Oil*, Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Natural Almond Fragrance, Citric Acid, Tocophero

Can be used as a body wash or as shampoo… reasonably priced and available in most health food stores. Here's their website:
