NSW Tertiary Education Concession Stickers

Hi all,

I bought a stack of mymulti2's and mybus2's a long time ago when there was an AMEX cashback offer combined with a a woolies docket discount for purchases over $50. I have about $400 worth of paper tickets left, and UNSW won't issue me with a concession sticker on my ID card because they're forcing everyone onto opal. I've called transport NSW many times and each time they never return my call and UNSW is being less than helpful. What should I do with them?

  • I did manage to get a refund for a My train Monthly thicket few years ago. They had an administrative overhead on the refund price which I cannot remember.
I remember doing the refund from their online service. But they did have an option to do it offline. Eitherway you have to return the original tickets to the closest station with a printout of the refund application form.

However having said that, last year I managed to convince UTS to issue me a foil sticker showing them some bus tickets I've pre purchased before. But I did have to talk to the Student Services manager get it done as they were trying to push people towards Opal too.

  • they dont sell tickets anymore so why would they provide concession stickers ?
i would not think anyone would provide the stickers anymore , there just is not a reason to.

    • +1

Travelten is still cheaper than Opal for occasional bus users
I also keep some travelten tickets but have nearly finished using them by now

    • But they are still valid tickets and will continue to be valid until they remove the paper ticket machines. Why should a minority of society be punished for using them when it's still a legal form of payment? I've been told a tertiary opal card won't cut it as proof of concession eligibility if I continue to use paper tickets. Furthermore, UNSW still issues concession stickers for people out of the Sydney metropolitan area, which is simply unfair.
