Its a decent enough price for a 128GB USB flash drive. I have decided to post it here specifically considering people who might be using it to go with their white laptops or other white devices.

Do these burn your fingers? ;)

    • I want to know that too :)

    • According to the Amazon reviews, these do NOT get anywhere near as hot as the Sandisk ones.

    • I replaced my crappy 128GB SanDisk ultra fit with this. The samsung drive is much better. SanDisk really tarnished their name with me on their poorly designed UltraFit. I've had 32GB, 64GB and 128GB versions and they all suck. Samsung is the go.

Does it come in Stainless Steel ?

      • +1

Only blue steel, but it's not as good at stopping shurikens

I like it but don't need it +1

  • Speed test?

    • +4

From the reviews of the 128GB version, you'd expect around 150/100MB/s read/write speeds.

Cheers, this'll be better for my Wii than the external HDD :)

Back in my day, we saved for months to buy our USB sticks.

They were EARNED, not merely bought.
And they were real sticks; they fit a man's hands properly. REAL STICKS.

1GB was an 'event'. Not like the kids today with their sissy sizes and massive storage and low prices. We respected ours sticks. They were never lost 'cause they were so freaking expensive. Far more care was taken.

Not like the kids today…abusing & losing their USB storage! Makes my blood boil, it does.
"I'll just get another one!", they say.

Pah! No respect. We feared our sticks. Feared for them. Feared losing them. As all good stick-fearing people did back in our day. We were moving away from floppies and Zip drives and Jaz drives and life was better because we RESPECTED our USB sticks. Our EXPENSIVE USB sticks.

    Not like today…

Hey kids, get off my lawn!

mfw some rich friends has a 128mb stick

Nothing beats my 3.5" Floppy disk 1.44mb! I remember that I was so boss bringing that to school!

        • +3

ahaha yeah, i remember when we were "issued" with our own floppy disk - they made it sound like they'd mortgaged the school to buy them. You werent even allowed to take it outside the computer room.

        • @Davo1111: LOL then you figured out how to format them so they would be bigger than 1.44MB.

back in your day people were saying the same about you and your 1GB while they used 16MB Olympus xD picture cards

TDK, 60 minute metallic tape cassettes. We had to wank to ASCII.

        • Ahh… the memories…

        • I still have memories of the 8 track in my dad's car!

    • All that, and not even some + for the poster

    • +1

My first USB Stick was 128MB, it cost (the company I worked for) over $800 from memory, no plug and play - came with a mini CD with the driver that you have to load first (on Windows 95).. Now showing my age.. :(

In my day for Christmas we got a memory stick.

It was just a stick and if you forgot something, Father’d hit you with it.

  • Look like they don't ship to Sydney.

    • They do ship to Sydney. Here's what they say "In Stock. This item ships to Sydney, Australia. Want it Monday, Feb. 29? Order within 10 hrs 13 mins and choose AmazonGlobal Priority Shipping at checkout". Are you using VPN to access the Amazon site?

  • Hmmm, I am thinking about whether I should get one and use it for Remix OS on Surface Pro 3.
Write speed looks to be fast enough…

    • Just wondering if you've used remix os on a device. I'm interested about how it runs on something other than the remix devices sold.

      • I just got it installed, the OS (Remix OS for PC) looked flashed out. Type Cover (Surface Pro 3) keyboard is not supported fully.
It looked promising, though since my internet wasn't available until today, I dind't really have a chance to play around with it much.

It really didn't look like it was on a level where I'd comfortably use it though. The UI was too small (then again, Surface Pro 3 has fairly high resolution, if I can root the OS, I could just use command to tweak DPI settings). Though, no internet did leave me at a position where I couldn't be bothered to even try it out a lot.

I might have chance to play around with it more tonight. That said, with beta coming out and everything, I think it'd get better. I think it would get to a position where the OS wouldn't be as good as official Android support, but it'd be good enough to use for certain situations.

  • I only have 1 item in the shopping cart and they won't let me checkout. The message I received was "Some of the items in your order cannot be shipped to the selected address. Please select a new address to see your estimated order total. :"

    • I rechecked…. no issues with shipping to Sydney, Australia.

      • That's strange. I'll contact customer support to find out why.

I'm going to wait till the price drops a bit more and PC Byte stock them.

I will also expect TA to come up with some special and a suitable discount code like ARSESUNG or SAMARSE

If there are such people, they really need to start living.

A quick google finds this for just under $39 in Aus. Plus just under $9.20 delivery. Although Im not going to as they suggest thats competitive shipping prices, at $9.20 for this, I say HAH!. I shall email and ask for the 'flexible' shipping option. Surely this should post in a $1.05 Aust Post padded bag.

You know, you learn to appreciate these deals more after dealing with sales people at retail stores like HN, JB, etc. I went in after a Sandisk that was sold for $160 at Harvey Norman. It was about $70 at Amazon. MAx discount the guy would give me was $10. Showed him Amazon, other online PC stores and he starts ranting about how they are grey import, no warranty, 90% of them are fake, etc, etc… I was like mate, you're selling it for over 2x the PRICE, surely you can do better than a $10 discount!!… I understand they have to pay lease and wages, but for more than 2x the price.. NO WAY! Unfortunately I am leaving overseas this week so I had no choice but to buy it from JB, who gave me $30 off! $130 vs $70 online. sigh

  • is it cheaper than sandisk?

  • +1

Shame there isn't a 256GB version of this size adapter. Could then use it to home an itunes library on a Mac Book Air instead of wasting the internal flash storage space. 128GB just isn't big enough sadly.

    • How many of those do you actually listen to?
My I tunes tells me it would take me 84.7 days to list to all my songs! (182GB)

      • How many songs is that? Are they all around 320kbps?

Most of my songs I think are on average 128kbps

I have about 4,200 songs across three Libraries….and it's nowhere near 50 gb.

You must have a MASSIVE library.

      • +1

Very valid point with regards to Music. But I also have Video in the library too. Movies and TV Series.

I need to move to NAS and migrate this one and my main desktop machine's library into one but cost is just too high.

        • I use a Seagate NAS which enables me to wirelessly stream to my SONOS system and by-pass my computer.
I have 25,333 songs, of various bitrates, up to 4513 kbps.
Most are 320 though, (I use MP3 Fibre to transfer YouTube songs to I Tunes at 320 kbps)

  • 64.43 + 6.52 . ~$70 AUD.

  • It appears to be $44.49 now.

  • Damn … 128GB out of stock

  • Eh, there's a ton of other brands if you don't need it to be so tiny. I just grabbed a Patriot because it was $40usd inc shipping.

  • +1

    Can still be bought, right?

"Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we'll deliver when available."
