  • $3 a punnet is about the bottom end of the range for blueberries I've seen.

    • thanks man!

      • Do you need them fresh? Frozen fruit seems way more economical. Watch out for hepatitis though!

        • yeah man i do like fresh. besides most of frozen fruits are imported goods.

$3 a punnet is cheap. Just wait until the seasons change and you're looking at $6-$7 a punnet for flavourless berries. Even the farmers markets seem to have them for around the $4 per 125g punnet range.

    • damn..woolworth had them 1.75 a punnet months ago would have buy more if i knew that was a bargain :/

  • cheapest I have seen was $2.50 a punnet. Usually pay $3-$4 a punnet. I bought a bush last year which is growing well, and just recently another variety to cross pollinate with. Definitely worth the investment as you can get a few kilos off one bush. Already had a few berries in the first year, and next season should be a good crop. I don't like the blueberries which are coming over from NZ at the moment either.

    • where you about mate? one of my friend in batemans bay had a few bushes but they not growing well.

In Sydney. They need an acidic soil, apart from that very easy and should grow well anywhere in Australia. And one of the easiest variety to grow is the high bush which are self fertile, recommend the Nellie Kelly 'Sunshine Blue' available from most nurseries and some Bunnings.

    • and i just wondering if Canberra a good place to rise those plants

  • Pick your own farms, usually ~$10 kg. http://www.pickyourown.org/australianswact.htm
