Any ozbargainer feedback on the Hitachi?

    • Generic electronics, just with the Hitachi brand. So no different from the ones you find in Aldi, and budget brands.

Strange remote control, has qwerty keyboard on its' base. It is infrared not bluetooth, so you got to type facing right.

      TV isn't great.

Lots of input lag so terrible for gaming and audio is pretty poor. Almost sounds like its underwater.

      Picture looks pretty good though.

      • Cheers, I need a TV to play PS4

There's no mic, so I doubt you'll get any.

  • Damn !! Shouldve waited. I got the LG 43LF5900 43" TV just over a week ago for $796 :(
Jbhifi doesnt have any price protection

But 28 Degrees does, along with some other cards.

LOL i got the TV using gift cards LOL

      • Wow, didn't realise that!

        • If you see an item that you just purchased on your 28 Degrees Platinum MasterCard, on sale at a reduced price at the same store (even if it’s a different location within Australia) within six months of purchase, we’ll pay the difference onto your card account – because we know how annoying that is.
        • If a new item that you just purchased on your 28 Degrees Platinum MasterCard is broken, lost or stolen within six months of purchase, we’ll pay the cost of repair or replacement onto your card account, even if you bought it overseas! That’s better than some warranties!

Looks like I'll be using mine for any large purchases from now on!

        • There is a fee for the price protection and you have to subscribe it

        • @dreamzz:

True, it's a form of insurance premium. Paid on the closing balance, so FREE if you pay off card before the statement is generated.

    • Comments on the picture quality, smart functions etc. In the market for a 40-43" smart TV. Was going to stick to Samsung, Panasonic or Sony. Thanks

Well , i did reasearch b4 i purchased the LG. LGs webos software is heaps faster n more simpler than the software on my 2014 model 32" samsung series 6. It even has miracast (alt to chromecast) so u can cast whats on ur fone to the tv. I even use intel widi to cast my laptop screen to my tv. On my samsung series 6 tv when i plug in a kb/mouse dongle. The tv would only accept 1 device. So i would have to plug in a separate dongle for a kb or mouse. The LG tv also supports the magic remote - dont own a magic remote yet - but its like a wii remote point at the screen. The LG tv also supports a bluetooth accessory. I havent ordered one yet to test. But im guessing u can connect it to bluetooth speakers n also bt kb + mouse.
The pic quality is excellent too. With an IPS panel. I can tell the pic quality diff looking back at my samsung series 6 n the lg tv. The lg does feel larger n seems more relaxed when i view the tv in my room.
The lg is only 50hz while my samsung series 6 is 100hz. I havent been able to spot d diff since my laptop hdmi output maxes at 60hz.

Cons are that there are only 2 HDMI ports
N only optical audio output - no coaxial digital audio output. There are also only 2 usb ports. N there is a device limit on the tv even though i plugged a usb hub in. I think the bluetooth accessory could expand that. But i havent purchased one to see.
I dont own the sony tv. But from what i saw in the store. Its powered by android os. So u get the android feature exp with the sony. It costs more than the lg. I think u can always get an android tv box for that job. But the lg only has 2 hdmi ports.

    • Jb hi fi does have price protection, i think it is 10 days

    • Really? Last week I got the LG 49LF6300 for $769 from jb….it was in catalogue for $796 but I think the sales got the digits wrong

      • Yep, i have done it before, some time refund sometimes store credit.

    Anyone know if this does 3840x2160 @ 60z @ 4:4:4 colour?

    • Can only see this
HDMI 2.0 allows your Hitachi 4K TV to attain a high 60 fps (frames per second)

  • What's the sweet spot for TVs now? I'm on a 42" and 50 wouldn't be a worthy upgrade. 55? 60?

    • +1

Apparently 55" is becoming the new "average size". Forgot where I read it.

      • +4

That's Android phones you're thinking of.

  • Any feedback on the Palsonic other than "dont buy it"? LOL

  • Guys please let me know..is this worth buying?

Mainly will use for blu rays, chromecast, netflix and PS3/PS4

    • Because it's not a major brand you should really go in store to test it m8
