Anyone Know of This Brand of Office Chair: Schiavello

I'm interested in one of their chairs from this brand. The model I like is the Alerra or the Vegas. Anyone know much about this brand or these particular chairs or own one of these chairs. The chair I want doesn't have it for display in their show room in Surry Hills in Sydney. They only have the Liberty. The chair is priced under $500 so I want to know if this a good quality ergonomic chair.

  • I used to work for Herman Miller when they had their own offices at Pyrmont. Schiavello was seen as very good competiion on Herman Miller's mid-range chairs. Hooe that helps

  • I have one. Bought it off gumtree. A few parts have broken and not particularly comfortable either. For $200'i paid it is still better than the junk in officeworks though. Really would like a Herman miller but don't want to spend the $

    • Hi which model did you buy. Did it have mesh backing. Was it because of the parts broken that it wasn't comfortable or what exactly did you find uncomfortable. I was about to buy from a seller off gumtree as well so close but the chair was already sold. Did you buy it from a personal seller or business. Was it from Surry Hills. I want a Herman Miller as well though best price I could find used for an Aeron is $750.

      • Not sure the model but it does have a mesh back. I mean it's ok but can't find a perfect setting for me and the recline and height is not right after the bolts broke, they just snapped one day. Bought it from a private seller in Western Sydney. It feels solid enough but I just never really felt it was that comfortable. Only bought it because it was a good price and better than the junk in officeworks etc. didn't seek it out specifically.

  • This brand is just about everywhere in Government departments. Go check out the ex govt auctions you might find what you need there? Especially now adays when federal and local govt departments are getting closed, merged etc. Lots of surplus around

    • Hi do you know where to go to look for ex govt auctions. Is there places in Sydney or online.

  • there are heaps in Sydney. Look in the paper
sometimes grays online does them, pickles. the usual suspects and the smaller outfits.

  • I don't know anything about the chairs, but I found these links to product information.

  • Schiavello is an Aussie company based in Melbourne. Some stuff is made here and some some stuff they import

  • I guess what I'm after is a good quality ergonomic office chair that will last long and is comfortable to sit in for long periods. I would like the chair to have height and back adjustments and the arms to be adjustable. I would like a mesh backing. I see this other place that I'm also considering buying from called Equip office furniture in Gladesville, Sydney. Anyone bought from this place before.
