Waterproof Camera < $150

Hi,

Heading to Hawaii soon for a week and going to do some snorkelling over there. Hoping to pick up something cheap to use while in the water over there. Considering I wouldn't be using it a whole lot, just something relatively cheap would be great

Any suggestions?

Considering something like this

but they're just examples, could be better options

GoPro Hero - Yes it's the basic version, but it's a GoPro! Waterproof to 40m, so you won't be too worried about what you do with it. You can trust it in the water.

Plus you could probably still sell it for $100 when you're done, won't be so lucky with some random P&S camera

    • Agreed.

You could go one better and get a higher up model and get the GST off through the TRS if you think you'll use it often enough.

DS for example has them on special for 20% off they might go to 50% off.

At the end of your trip you can just sell it

I do get a discount through JB HiFi through my employer so I will request a quote from them too.

I have a Panasonic Lumix FT10 and an Olympus TG10…both waterproof and both I have used at 5 meters.

I bought the Olympus with rewards points and the Lumix for $175.50 back in 2011 from eGlobal.

This one is $99 at JB HiFI

Read some reviews and comparison vids - the GoPro quality appears much better
